Castle Crashers/Xbox live arcade policy

I'm thinking about buying Castle Crashers so I can have something to play with my brother over live when i go back to school in a week, but I'm still unclear about how live handles moving purchases to other 360s. I will be taking my gamertag on a memory card and using a roommates 360, while leaving my 360 at home with my brother. If I buy Castle Crashers using my account, I know I can re-download it at school using my gamertag. But will my brother be able to use it on the original 360 to play with me? Or will he need to buy it himself. Thanks to anyone who can clarify for me.

I'm not too well-versed in these matters, but I think it ties purchases to two keys - the ID of the console it's bought on, and the gamertag that buys it. So I think you can still play it on the original 360, and re-download it with your gamertag on a new one. But you may also have to be connected to Live in order to play it with the gamertag.

That is the way it works. Also, you can then run their new DRM update tool thing, and move your license from the old 360 onto the new one. Apparently it's pretty painless.

If you buy it on your home 360 you can redownload it on your roommate's and it will work fine. If you are not connected to Live, it will only be a trial, but your brother will be able to play it online and offline.

If you use the licence transfer tool then your brother will lose his ability to play the next time he logs into Live.

If you want to play with your brother you will have to buy two copies.

That is not at all true.

Listen to Willeth, he knows of what he speaks.

Willeth says you will be able to play. He wants to play together though. Wont there be some kind of conflict trying to play the same registered game?

No, as long as it was purchased on the home 360 and his own account, they'll be able to play together.
