I hate it when PAX ends, and I didn't get to meet everyone.

I sense you're filled with hate pretty much every year. You should chill out, and be happy with only meeting like, 98%. That's pretty good, right?

    sniff. sob. sniff. ok

Dressing as the pyro was an excellent idea. Being wrapped in skin tight plastic and wearing a gas mask kept me protected from all the germs I imagine were surfing the air currents. Instead however, I feel like I backpacked cross country uphill both ways :D

    So you were the pyro...

I must say, I greatly appreciated the level of authenticity. You know, being a girl, and all! (Unless you're not a girl, in which case your forum name is misleading and you did a damned good job of looking like one!)

Man this cold is really sucking. Headache and groggyness is on full force. Ny/DayQuil usually kicks ass for me, but its barely putting a dent into this.

We're staying in Seattle one more day before flying home... and I can tell you, Pike Place Market and the Space Needle is not quite as exciting as PAX... :( Pretty much a crappy day today compared to the past 3.

Oh well, at least I get to go home - that sounds more exciting than Seattle. Sorry anyone who lives here, didn't mean to offend.

Even Wil Wheaton said over Twitter, "I think I have a mild case of ConSARS. *sadface*"

I'm confident that I won't get a cold, only because I use this toothpaste and throat spray: Therabreath

It's supposed to be for bad breath, but a coworker turned me onto using it last year after I caught a cold every month till June. He said he hadn't been sick for 2 years since he started using it.
I don't know what it does, exactly; I suspect it interrupts the incubation process or some such by killing bacteria in your mouth, some which cause bad breath.

Anyway, I haven't had a cold since I started using it 14 months ago. They sell the toothpaste and rinse in Walgreens and Target; you don't have to buy them off the net.

So, I didn't get sick. I just got massively hungover instead. :(

i kept getting randomly dizzy at the con. Never before has that happened.

though i did sleep better at my hotel than i do at home.

Same here. On friday I felt like i was going to pass out on the expo hall floor. Then Sarah reminded me to eat... felt a bit better after that

The weather this year could have been ahuge culprit as far as colds go. During the day it can be really hot, then right at dusk it seems bitterly cold. If you didn't prepare and dress in layers or anything, the constant temp change can trigger a cold. Happens in Bellingham pretty much from April thru September.

Also, my digestive system is PISSED. I ate total crap all during PAX, with only one real sit-down, fairly balanced "meal", and not nearly as much water as usual. Plus more caffeine and sugar than is wise.

It'll probably take a week or so to mellow out. Emotionally I plan on staying active with the Twitter group, friending everyone I met who plays Guild Wars, keeping in touch on the forums, and try to hold onto my PAX08 memories as long as possible. I'm even bringing my messenger bag (with buttons!) to work with me tomorrow, along with PAX talismans (07 dvd, demo cds, wil wheaton books, etc) to keep the high going.

Shit man, I had to motherfucking work today, day after the con. I'm a dog groomer so with the combination of sleep deprivation and a sudden drop in blood caffeine levels I'm sure quite a few of my dogs today were emotionally traumatized for life.

But man, after a weekend like that, and suddenly you're thrust back into the IRL and faced with a motherfucking husky mix that's decided it just doesn't want to stay still for a shave? Yeah that's just about the time when Ms. Nice Basser goes right out the window. I did wear my PAX08 shirt under my grooming smock though, keep the fire alive a tiny bit longer! All my coworkers thought I was a complete lunatic with the stories I was telling.

GUYS WHY CAN'T PAX BE ALL THE TIME.

I was sick while there, and I tried very hard to stay away from the actual cookies, and just handled money for the brigade.

But if anyone develops a sore throat, sorry. Blame my kid for playing with other kids.

After 12 hours of travelling from Seattle to London my heart has really sank. I worked so hard during PAX my experience of it was so different to many on these boards. I know VT saw it written on my face when I saw him on the last day.

I will be going next year but I think I won't be working so hard next time....

Anti-bacterial stuff kept the germs at by while Vitamin C + Zinc + Echinacea chewables helped keep the immune system strong for the germs that got past.

I've been to my fair share of cons and have finally learned that if I don't do this, I will end up getting sick with god knows what.

Of course, I hadn't anticipated my ankles, knees, and feet to hurt so much. Fuck me for staying at the Renaissance. I must have walked at least 5km a day, half uphill. Wish I would have had stronger painkillers than ibuprofen with me.

I think I feel like shit because I got like 10 hours of sleep in my own bed last night. I don't think my body was expecting it, and now I feel all groggy. I think I might have caught a cold and it's creeping up on me. But yes, I do feel very funky. In a bad way.

My wife and I rode to and from PAX with some IRL friends, and we wouldn't shut up on the way there, talking and joking with each other the entire way.

The way back, we barely said a damn thing between Redmond and a rest stop somewhere after Ellensburg.

Now I'm at lunch time, and after being a PAX Rock Band Rock Star for the weekend, I'm back to being a milk man. Its... its slightly depressing.
