My favorite thing about the movie as a whole is how everything sort of comes around
There are shots and moments that are unimportant on their own, but later in the film have greater significance
I missed most of them on my first viewing in fact
Yeah, there's a huge underlying sense of karma throughout the whole movie.
Well I wasn't really speaking of symbolism, I was speaking from a filmmaking perspective
Here there be spoilers
The part early on where Ken is on top of the tower and he makes a gun with his fingers and "shoots" Ray has no real significance on it's own, but later in the film when he goes to the top of the tower to try and shoot Harry, he can't see him. The earlier fingergun scene established that normally, he could
In addition, the reason he couldn't see was because of a low lying fog, which he lied to Harry about Ray seeing one night, saying he felt like he was in a dream. The fact that the movie ends on the set of another movie filming a dream sequence isn't a coincidence either
Basically the whole thing is exceedingly well crafted and plotted out, so much so that removing any piece of it would detract from the whole. It's quite an achievement

Yeah, all of that stuff too. All of those scenes gave the sense of things coming back to visit you, or things coming back to serve a purpose. That's what I meant by the sense of karma.
It was a really well done movie, very well thought out and written out.
oh god i loved this movie so much. i have to thank this forum for getting me to watch it a few months ago.
i think my favorite part is
seriously don't click farther if you haven't seen the movie
the scene on the playground where ray is getting ready to kill himself and ken is coming up behind him to kill him. the emotions and acting and shit in that scene are just so tops. loved everything about it.
it's also one of those movies where I see all these places where it could become cliched or just ruin the characters, and I think for a second the movie's gonna fall for one of these pitfalls, and then it doesn't and i'm happy.
( Yes, actually it is. You see, I'm clausterphobic. )
Honestly though, In Bruges wasn't a bad movie from what I could tell, it just didn't keep me awake since I was tired and bored of watching movies all day.
( We had watched Donnie Darko, and Citizen Kane. Oh, snap, here I go with the spaces again. )

Riale is all up in your grill and spitting down your throat and you are taking it like a little bitch girl takes her daddy candy.
Probably, man.
Probably.
( I wish I was joking. )
It's the sloth.
I never saw Riale behave like this back during the anime avatar phase.
