I'll never, ever use a program for my RSS feeds again. Nothing beats access anywhere.
I like having a nice app.
The main thing that NetNewsWire does that nothing else does is having the full articles inline. Headlines don't give me enough information, I like to skim article and look at pictures and choose what to read, and NetNewsWire is the only one that doesn't separate headlines and content into separate windows.
Annnd NetNewsWire plugs into NewsGator which is a decent online RSS reader. Syncs both ways.
:?: I can only think of like two feeds that don't have the stories inline... they're webcomic feeds, so they just want the hits. That isn't dependent on the reader, it's dependent on the feed.
No, I mean that all other RSS readers separate the interface into three panes - the feed list, the story list, and the reading pane. I like the story list and reading pane to be combined.
Anyway, I got my macbook back up and running and customized. Please quote me!
NB: I haven't tried it yet, I don't think. I may have back in the day when I first got Vista, since my icons were huge (and therefore the arrows were too), until I found out I could [some modifier]-scroll to scale the icons back.
I was kind've down about the lack of theme identification, but I found a new one I like, and after some reorganization, Executor, and a small selection of hidden icons, this is my new desktop-
Just thought I'd let you all know that I've started working on getting the wallpaper dump up and running again. Purchased new hosting for a year in advance earlier today, and I now mostly have to configure everything and get all of my old scripts up to date with the latest patches etc. (could take a few days). I will maybe write something new eventually as I'm uncertain about the future of the forum software I'm basing the permissions & groups of the gallery on, but there should be no rush to do that yet and if I do this, I will be writing a converter to move all the old data over
Thanks for the comments everyone, I very much appreciate to hear that you enjoy the site!
And now, it turns out that the updates didn't take nearly as much time as I first thought it would, so the site is pretty much up and running already. I've gone over the various functions, tested and I think I've found and solved the few minor problems the change of hosting environment caused. Still, I won't know for sure until you all start playing around again so I'm opening "the doors" right now. Please create a topic in the feedback & bug reports forum if you encounter any problems and I'll get it fixed as soon as I can

What icons are you using for My Computer and My Documents? ive seen them somewhere before
Those would be from the Linux icon theme Tango. I love it. Either Tango or some variation has been on my desktop pretty much since it was announced. Some guy made a patcher for Windows XP.

What like this?
And while I'm posted I'm wondering if there are any skins/themes for xp that allow the start menu to be transparent to match the OS X menu bar?

You could try area04. It doesn't match the OSX pallette, but it is thinner than regular XP. In fact it sort of matches Steam.
Damn, forgot to source. Here you go.

I am moderately satisfied.
Didn't know if it was interesting enough to post the source for. Guess I underestimated the taste of ye olde desktop thread.

It is so good
e: Found it on pixiv.
Ditto on this one.
Requires the Yahoo Widget Engine, but seems solid.
Yes. Add notepad to your start up folder.
Ba dum, pssh!
No really, I could've sworn there was something like this. Lemme go dig around a bit.
Thanks for the offer, though I've already paid for this period (the next 12 months) so there's no need for that at this point

Welcome back to the PA wallpaper dump!
Well I guess I'll have to go through my customs folder and throw my newer junk back up there.

That's odd. I spent the last 10 minutes uploading images and it was running smoothly.
