I actually enjoy the Cable parts, the whole savior thing is interesting.
Dystopian soldier becomes utopian leader. Yawn. Cable isn't a character - he's a marketing gimmick that got turned into an endless reclamation project.
Could be worse, though.
Could be Ultimate Cable.
God help me, but I like Ultimate Cable. I mean, he's not really who he is and who he really is is a nice, weird mash-up of '90s X-Men icons. I guess it doesn't hurt that Ben Oliver is really selling this arc with his awesome art, either.
[spoiler:52d9b484ae]But we appear to have reached maximum Wolverine-saturation point. Not only is he in every book, he's in it twice[/spoiler:52d9b484ae]
Which is why it's awesome that Ultimate Cable pisses off [spoiler:52d9b484ae]you know who's[/spoiler:52d9b484ae] fans. It's an idea so awful that it's awesome.
Is it me or did the new Spider-Man seem like a lot of quoted text and very little of anything else? Same with Civil War 10 really. I just really can't buy that Speedball would blame [spoiler:1e02d3b5f1]himself for those deaths. Sounds like just a lame excuse to get him in a new, admittedly almost cool looking costume with some interesting internal additions[/spoiler:1e02d3b5f1]
Captain America quoting, like, seven pages worth of Mark Twain while Peter Parker swoons and fawns over him like a teenage schoolgirl? Literally half of Frontline involving Ben and whatshername running around and being all, "Oh man, I know something awesome! You know something awesome too? Really? The real reason behind Civil War? Wouldn't it be nice if we gave even the slightest hin -- TO BE CONTINUED"

This kind of pissed me off.
Yeah, I hate mega-event-crossovers that don't tell the whole story in a single issue. Fuckers.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying:
"Marvel, why didn't you condense your megaevent and all its surprises into a single panel for rapid and satisfying consumption!?"
Or, maybe, it was something more along the lines of:
"Marvel, how the FUCK can you justify what is essentially an issue's worth of Mark Twain quotes and 'Neener, neener, I know something cool!' sprinkled in two of your headline books?"

Really, it's just outright embarrassing.
Your mother is outright embarrassing.
These issues had just as much progression as the others in the series - you cant pick them up now and start bitching about it. You've had 5 issues before this to decide it doesn't have enough action. Personally, I loved it and like the end-game set up we're getting.
[spoiler:891268d542]Is MJ or Aunt May gonna get it?[/spoiler:891268d542]
Would explain why Pete is going back to the black costume
[spoiler:891268d542] They become lesbians and run off together, is my theory. But the rumor mill says MJ buys it. [/spoiler:891268d542]
Mature lesbian porn...hawt.
Can someone explain this favor that Loki owes Spider-Man? Seems to be a pretty common theory that Spidey cashes in his favor and Loki makes everyone forget that Peter Parker = Spider-Man.

One of loki's daughters on earth got possessed by some bad spirit thingy and Spider-man helped Loki save her.
Honestly, I completely forgot about it till you just mentioned it.

Benjamin Franklin used foil covered window glass to create a capacitor. He then attempted to kill a turkey with the stored charge. Instead, he knocked himself out. Franklin later wrote, "I tried to kill a turkey but nearly succeeded in killing a goose."

Oh, so you're the dude that dudes are talking about. After everything I've heard about you, I figured you'd at least have some rudimentary reading comprehension.
The action is fine. Particular redundancies in particular books and the EGREGIOUS flaws in the aforementioned issues are the problem. I have no qualms with the overarching plot or its effects on the MU. Heck, I do like the event overall. It's just retarded to have a discussion without noting and discussing the flaws. If some of you dudes can't handle that, tough shit.
But, really, why am I bothering to explain myself to a fucking idiot?
Here's Loki promising to do spiderman a favor. It's from Amazing Spider-man 504. I went back to look for it after you mentioned it.

Should've been out this week. I hear most new issues this week are backed up because of the holiday though, so you'll need to ask your local comic shop when they'll get the new stuff.
[spoiler:ba24927a01]Tony has Sentry, Clor, Taskmaster... how the fuck can Cap compete with shit like that?[/spoiler:ba24927a01]

[spoiler:d5d8eb505d]Those greek superheroes that were shown for 2 pages are kinda shaping up into some kind of justice league spinoff, at least from what we've seen so far.
Also, I wouldn't count out the anti reg folks just yet. With the prison opened I'd say there would an epic level fight... well until thor shows up and cleans house.[/spoiler:d5d8eb505d]
[spoiler:faf337e9fc]Man, for serious, fuck Robbie Baldwin and his S&M alt. He's a really strong reason for me to not buy Thunderbolts next week.[/spoiler:faf337e9fc]
I'm in total agreement. His change, even if you've only read about him in Front Line, comes off as very forced and contrived.

He was cool up until Frontline #9, at which point he jumped the shark. The S&M, wannabe Spawn/The Crow shark.
Now the only cool New Warrior left is Nova, whom I fervently hope finds out about Robbie and proceeds to beat some sense into him.
I read the first 5 or so issues of Frontline and, other than the fact that I hate what they did to the New Warriors, kind of liked how Robbie was handling the situation, NOT letting them break him. Of course he felt bad for what happened to the innocent people who died because of Nitro, but he wasn't letting it destroy who he was.
That scanned sequence is one of the most ridiculously emo crapfests I've ever read.
Managed to take a look at a couple of the pages in #6...
[spoiler:2b6d385051]..and Spider-Man's words on why Frank didn't fight back against Cap defantally stick with me in an 'inside vs outside' sort of way.. Course Cap could be right in the end with Frank simply being nuts. [/spoiler:2b6d385051]

Personally, I think I'd look really good with white highlights in my hair. Is that what you call those things?
Those goddamn inserts for that online music service.

Civil War 6 provided me with nothing but blue balls.
Frank Castle is still awesome.
