Yuh, it was meant to be a sort of.. arm.. tilted towards camera, but I forgot. :c

Yeah sure, draw-over would be great! <3

See if this helps you at all. Not amazing, but I tried to keep it as close to yours as I could. I think the best advice I can give you is to take a life drawing class or something. Or draw from porn. No, srsly.

Awman. That's so much better, to the max. I actually have done lifedrawing, but since i've gone into 3D it's like i've forgotten everything. How the weights balanced on the leg makes perfect sense. Auugh. Might redo this/hack it back together, though the torso still looks a bit short so i'll yank it up?. Thanks so much!

If you scan right into Photoshop (File > Import > Your Scanner), you can save your file as whatever file type you'd like.

I've never used a tablet before, so I tried drawing a jellyfish.

    jellyfish8.jpg

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. I keep wanting to switch brush sizes a lot and it feels really awkward.

    PS hey guys I'm new

yeah you'll get it used it. best thing is to change the buttons on your tablet to to act as the [ and ] keys so u can change the size on the fly while your working. having another one set to alt so you can color dab quickly is also a must

I set the two buttons on my pen to alt (colourpick) and space (pan page). And yeah, set two buttons on your tablet if you have an intuos 3 to [ and ] and changing your brush size is a sinch. If you don't have buttons on your tablet, the keyboard works good too.
I have another two buttons on the tablet swap between brush and eraser, because frankly, the back on the pen sucks (as does flipping it around)

Very nice for a first tablet drawing though. Looks a hell of alot more natural then my first whack at it.

I actually have one of my pen buttons set to ctrl z so I can I quickly do away with any stroke that didn't come out the way I wanted it. That and it also helps prevent me from having to flip the pen to use the eraser which I agree is a total pain in the ass.

Playing through Ep. 2 of Precipice of Darkness has really kicked my fanart muse in the ass, so I can't help myself. Sorry for the really shitty quality on this, but I had to take a ghetto photo of this since I gave it to my friend to hang on her wall without thinking to scan it first. But I thought that if I ought to post this shit anywhere, it might as well be here. I like drawing PA because it forces me to break certain habits I have in my usual style to get some variety in there; I really should do it more often XDDD

    shadow'ed PA

Some nice flow there Link, you are right about the bad picture being bad though, I'm notorious for taking horrendous pictures as well. ;D

You didn't clean it up though before giving it to your friend? Would think you'd remove the guidelines and solidify it a bit more. Regardless, I think you got the PA style down pretty good.

Haha, it was a pretty hard retard moment on my part, really. It looks super shadowy because I had to bump up the contrast hardcore so you could even see it... though now it kind of looks like a still from a pencil test. It's too bad that the Fruit Fucker I drew in the corner had to suffer =P

Anyway, thanks! I'm glad you think I managed to nail it. I usually draw really... pretty for lack of a better word, so I loooove drawing stuff like PA and Gorillaz to loosen myself up. It was just a quick sketch, though, so nope, no clean up. Sometimes I kind of like seeing that construction in there to give the image something kind of organic; sometimes super cleaned up art is just like... too mechanic, you know? I literally just did it and she was like 'Ohh!' and I was like 'Want it?' and she was like 'Word.'

See? Too pretty, even only like a quarter of the way through, haha.

Hahaha, I know, I know... I tried hard to make them look not so pretty, but I think it's just the nature of my hand >__<!!! My original concept for the image was actually Gabe flipping through a book like 'What is this bullshit?' and then Tycho had that WTF expression. But I didn'ty like the composition, so I just changed it so they were outright posing. *siiiigh* I lose, but I still kind of like the pic, hahahaha.

Oh crap, I didn't copypaste the commentary. A friend of mine asked me to do this as an album cover for a cd some families who had lost a child made. She works at a bereavement counseling center and their logo is a butterfly and she wanted a crying eye with the tear turning into a butterfly. So I did that and she likes it and I wanted to share it.

Doing quick 20 second sketches in my book today. Quite awful at the moment. My dog is so cute these sketches do him no justice!

    dnkr3b.jpg

Practicing with water colour paints. Bought a cheap pack of 12 colours for $11.95. So far only used 3 tubes! Took my sketch of Jim Cramer i drew earlier. Some of you probably saw it.

    sn29g5.jpg

And farting around with mixing acrylics. My bros GF fave me about 15 tubes of student paint, so im using these instead of my expensive ones.

EDIT: Sorry for the size of images, next posts ill make them smaller.

Thanks... I'll try and add more colour... but it's still in very early stages. As for me being a yaoi fan, well, I ship al kinds of couples. Yes, my fave couple is of the yao ipersusasion, but do I ship that for Tycho and Gabe? Not on your life, I assure you. I think some drawing habits tend to leak over, though. As I said, i draw pretty.

There are far more "perverts" on these boards that you might think. So long as its good, or at the very least creative in execution or concept, then I'm sure it will have its rightful place here. And if not here, then there will always be other worthy places. If you can think it, or make it, then there's an audience of like-minded folks out there to pander to. In the end it doesn't matter what it is or how it looks. Its in the very nature of art to be so unquestionably subjective. No matter what it is, art will always, and I mean always, have an audience to captivate.

I'm not actually too keen on the term "pervert" to begin with. I don't find anything about the human form dirty, perverse, or deviant. There really isn't anything too gross, too icky, too graphic, or too offensive to me about the human body, or anything else for that matter. I'm also not that hip to shock value, but I can't help but flutter towards those who are willing to push certain social norms, and boundaries. I'm like a moth to a taboo breaking flame in that way I guess.

What you say is very insightful and I agree with it for the most part. I think that's part of what makes the internet a fun place half the time (wank aside, of course XDD) The subjectiveness of art is partly why I think that people don't need to be so ridiculously picky about some of the things that are posted on these threads, but hey, that might be me waxing idealistic =P
