Thanks, but I don't see an option to disable the spellchecker completely.

A very minor thing that's confusing me is the placement of the refresh button. In IE it's to the right of the address bar.

So, just got ahold of it and I'm using it now.

The UI looks really nice under Vista (but then, so does Firefox if you install Glasser), but I'm worried that it'll look really shitty under Linux.

I really like how I can resize the message box that I'm typing in, and detaching and reattaching tabs from/to a window is pretty cool. Unfortunately, using (for instance) ctrl-I to get italic text in vBulletin (e.g. here) doesn't work anymore. But I guess it's a beta.

I need my AdblockPlus+EasyList, though. I can't stand to try and watch The Daily Show online without it. Also, you don't realize how much you miss Firefox's all-page zoom until you're back in the fucking stone age with text-only zoom.

edit: porn mode is also a nice touch.

edit 2: whoa, Javascript is fucking fast in this browser, and once this thing goes open-source, every other (open-source) browser needs to steal whatever engine it's using.

You can get the source for it if the damn SVN server will stay up for long enough. It crapped out on me about 1/3 of the way into the checkout. And the source for v8, looks like it's not having the same stability issues. You can download it right now. Here.

When we can get the source I'm going to start building it. If people are interested I can start distributing those unofficial builds.

Do you have any ideas on how these unofficial builds will differ from the official ones?

There's the possibility they'd be out sooner than "we don't want to give ourselves an artificial deadline date". Other than that? Not... not really.

I would love for add ons to be added.

    I really miss FireFTP.

That said, I've switched to Chrome, it's the future.

I'll use Firefox for what I need it for, and eventually I'm sure it'll be replaced completely.

Uhhh so guys, I don't get why the download button in the OP isn't working. Interesting. I click the link, and do install and nothing in either FF or IE.

EDIT: Okay nvm, I got a working link: Stange. that was like the first broken thing from google I have ever experienced.

Somehow that hadn't crossed my mind yet. Good point.

@Lucky: That link doesn't work... Google forgot about it or something :P This worked for me

Wow guys, well first off I gotta say that it certainly is very responsive. :D I am not going to be replacing firefox just yet nor should anyone really, but it certainly feels like a damn nice browser. Nice and zippy. :D

This thing is fugly, and I say that as an IE & Opera user. The only real thing here is the javascript engine and I can see how it could be tripped up big time with a faulty javascript.

And then there are the privacy issues that are popping up, and not just what you disable when you download it. In short they continue to record your searches and what sites you visit without an time limit on the data.

I find that scrolling with my mousewheel is a whole lot faster now, probably because the webpages load so much faster, so I'm not scrolling while parts below are still loading. I've had to adjust my mouse wheel scroll speed.

I'm not sure how I feel about tabs being at the top. It's not really any worse, but I don't see any benefit to it, and it feels a bit weird at first.

Seems like a lot of the complaints are regarding things that could be added in future plugins. I don't know that it'll be my default browser, as I'm pretty tied to a bunch of different Firefox plugins, but I'll certainly keep an eye on it. So far it's definitely faster than Firefox.

Scrolling does jump a lot further. It looks like at least twice as far as firefox, as far as I can tell. I like it, I hope they'll make it adjustable though.

edit: Wow it's strange browsing websites I've been using forever and seeing ads and banners I'd forgotten were there.

The two I just checked on page 6 are actually 404s on Sud's site... probably because the user(s) didn't recreate their sig. It's just blank on Firefox.

Huh, I just noticed this. If you Ctrl+F for something, Chrome draws yellow lines on your scrollbar to show where on the page that term occurs. Nifty.

My experience with Chrome thus far is that it is noticably slower than Opera 9.50, on anything from plain text files to horrendously coded crimes of JavaScript.

Quite disappointing. If Chrome doesn't have the speed advantage, what does it have?
