Yes, it is true. Although the CGI film did well enough to warrent a sequel, there has been much talk between Imagi and Warners to do a better "re-invention" (newest Hollywood buzzword) of the TMNT's, in a live action film--like what was done with Batman. Back to basics, back to the origin and the intro of the Shredder, etc...there have been talks, trips to Northampton to talk to Mr Laird, and discussions with the original "first" TMNT film director Steve Barron to come back and do it right--but no official word yet...will keep you posted. Best, Kevin
A LIVE-ACTION RE-INVENTION OF THE FIRST FILM? OH MAN

"Batman did well, what property do we have that we can make dark and gritty?"
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?"
"It's a cartoon though..."
"Nah, we'll do it right this time."
Actually, my RA was playing the TMNT 360 game the other night, and I thought a TMNT/Spider-Man crossover would be awesome. They're both comic book characters (though different companies), both light-hearted, both are really quick and jump around the rooftops of New York.
Would make a really neat TV special or video game.

"What you talkin' about, you crazy foo! There's no such thing as giant turtles, running around the sewer system. Hannibal, tell this crazy foo to shut his mouth, before I shut it for him"
In all honesty, I hope this means that hollywood is going to stop trying to make new movies and just "reimagine" the same film over and over again. People seem to respond well to that
I read this old old old turtles comic about how they became the..uuh turtles, and according that book they got gooed on with goo from a truck that drove off the road when a kid saved a blind man from being run over(the kid was very brave, almost as tho HE HAD NO FEAR) and then it seemed as the kid also got some goo in his eyes.

When I read that, my mind was blown.
Check the Wiki article. TMNT has a lot of Daredevil references.

The recent TMNT CGI movie was nowhere near as bad as people made out. Not great, but not the work of the devil either. I liked the visual style personally.

This is bullshit, DO NOT MESS WITH THE CLASSIC MOVIES FROM WHEN i WAS A KID.
It might be alright if they show a pizza hut commercial like when I saw it in theaters.
