alot of people fancietwalnut, including myself have been patching. I just got done with it. I'm going to assume their patch servers are getting smooshed right now.

It's weird, on the account management section of their page I am clearly signed up for the head start and open beta yet when I attempt to log into the patcher with my account info I get "Authentication failed. Please re-enter your login credentials."

Well I picked the Dwarf Engineer and did my first Scenario and I have to say that this is a badass game. Though I already found my first bug.
I'm sure you guys are tired of hearing this question, but I've searched, and can't find a decent answer.
Are the advertised system requirements actually reasonable for this game? I met them for Age of Conan by a fair margin, but the game ran like complete trash even on the lowest of settings. Talk about a complete waste of $50, and the many hours I struggled trying to get it to work. Guess I'm still spooked from my last terrible experience with an MMO.
My computer is far shy of cutting-edge (single-core 3.4 P4, Radeon 3xxx). I think it's my processor that killed AOC for me. Will this run at 30FPS, even in cities?

From what I've heard the system requirements are only slightly above WoW, and lower than AoC by quite a bit.
So where besides FilePlanet can I DL the open beta client. Because they're giving me hullaballo about merging accounts and it won't let me log in until I make ANOTHER email account and register with that or something. So funk that.
I don't understand why they didn't let us patch over the past couple days while teh PW+ people were playing. it would have put much less of a stress on the servers this morning.
I'm... not sure whether I'm filled with rage or waaaaagh. I just spent hours getting the fucking client from fileplanet, then hours waiting for the open beta to start up... and then finally hours for the patch. And... when I am filled with joy and click play, it gives me a critical error that my system memory is too low. I understood that 512 RAM would cause me problems in the game, but they'd be problems I was willing to deal with, instead the game just kicks me in the balls, hard. So I'm tired to the point of my eyes falling out of their sockets, and it's difficult to be mad in this state but in my head I'm screaming at the client. I really thought I'd be able to at least play through the non-intensive stuff...
RAM is cheap, I know... even though this dinosaur of a god damn machine only takes DDR, it's still cheap. But the thing is the only person with the ability to buy RAM at the moment likely wouldn't, since he hasn't fucking upgraded this thing in eight years aside from a new hard drive when the old one burnt out. *Face plant* So.... agitated.

I sincerely hope that you get it fixed, and I sympathize...
However, nothing in the world runs on less than a gig these days.

Hey at least your beta code works, I entered mine on a previously existing account(from DAoC) and I can't log into the patcher.
Even worse is that I can't get anything over the net. The person who actually has control of the money is so fucking superstitious they think the moment they put in their debit card info it's gonna get stolen. So that leaves me with... normal stores. Which not only are limited in supply, but fucking overpriced.
So I make an engineer, do the first public quest line, do a couple scenarios (where we get fucking stomped out hard), decide to try chaos. Log into the zealot starting area and holy fuck talk about a gigantic zerg compared to the dwarf area. 50+ people running around compared to like maybe 20 in the dwarf area.
Then my ISP decides to fucking die for 45 minutes.
And now back to our regularly scheduled what-the-fuck-am-I-going-to-play-program.

With settings cranked down it runs pretty well on my laptop; 2.2ghz Core 2, 7400 128mb, 2gb RAM. It's vastly better optimized than AoC.
I put about an hour in then went out to buy Spore.
I'm liking what I'm playing so far, but as a Witch Hunter at such a low level I feel somewhat useless in RvR, so I've stuck with mostly PvE content.
I'll say one thing, (and I hate to be a broken record) but higher res textures and a longer viewing distance would be ace right about now. Seeing a giant no more than five feet from you pop out of the woods with no texture is a bit, odd.
so I always thought I was a "pew pew rape rape rape cut cut explosions" kind of guy in MMO's, but apparently I have evolved into a healer now
Healing mans as a zealot or shaman beats any other class I've tried so far
When it comes to pvp, there's a certain satisfaction in healing a guy. Maybe it's that the enemy thought they were going to get a kill, had the guy at like quarter health, and all of sudden all their hard work is gone as you heal him, and now the enemy is having a bad day.

Ouch.
Well the client downloaded sooner than I expected so this is a fine time to take a shower and watch the first episode of The Shield.
So close I can TASTE it!

Here you can run a test to see if you reach minimum spec. etc.
Personally I get pretty close to the "Fast" computers, so here's to hoping it'll run atleast abit well!

Yea thats what happens to me.
I think they're messing with us.
Will I have had lunch or dinner before the patch finishes?
Meh.

'Cause I'm willing to do that.
You are probably right, I got a response from their customer service that simply read "Good luck faggot" which I thought was pretty harsh.
