    2. Swordmasters fight ALL the time.
    3. The purpose of the swordmaster is to flip out and kill people.

Max level is 20, and you can't PvP in tier 1 scenarios past 11. You can go do tier 2 scenarios, but they are kind of empty at this point.

On that note, what is the speed of leveling compared to WoW? Like is 20 levels in WAR equivalent to 60 in WoW?

That's true. A solid tank/healer pair can kick out ridiculous amounts of damage.

Ask Kiko (an Iron Breaker) if he had fun last night in a party full of healers, heheh. Tanks are HARD to kill if they are being held up by healers. Very hard.

The secret then is to kill the healer first, and to snare the tank. I know this is only beta, and we (I) haven't played all that much yet, but I didn't notice any incredible imbalance in power. The deserving team always won.

A tactic that I see work ridiculously well in WoW and will probably have the same here is to have 2 healers on a single tank. If someone focus fires the tank, well good luck damaging them through multiple heals, if they decide to take out a healer instead, then you have a backup healer healing the healer as well as a tank beating the shit out of the guy.

Of course this is more micro-level tactics, I have no idea how WAR works with it's huge sprawling battles.

60 more megs to patch and i'll be trying out DoK. So excited!

Hehe, yes, I said this earlier. Circle jerk healing is what I like to call it. It's really funny when you do it with four or five healers, who are all running in circles to stay away from the melee trying to kill them and slow the healing down.

Thats the one thing I dont like/one that I love about Scenarios. You get major EXP from them. So basically, if all you want to do is PvP in Scenarios you can and still level up. On the downside you need to do SOME PvE to afford skills gear, but if you're geared to what you want and are only PvPing to get to Renown Gear, you're all straight.

I bought the +5% EXP from RvR tactic and was tempted to buy the +5% Coin from RvR one as well but figured, meh, it is beta I won't need that much money.

No, not even close. Leveling is pretty quick. If I was trying, I could probably make R20 in a few days tops.

well WARDB isn't working for me here at work, but I'm just assuming they have the same spammable/stackable ability that Black Orcs do that reduce armor. All the brick wall in the world won't help you when you don't have any armor.

If I'm not mistaken, Swordmasters get a spirit attack for their anti-armor tool as opposed to an armor debuff. Ironbreakers get the armor debuff I believe.

What class impresses people the most? Not so much as like uber or overpowered, but just new and interesting mechanics. I know when I started WoW, I was amazed by warriors. They took a class that was always stale, EQ and DaoC, autoattack and taunts, and made them much more interactive and fluid.

New Mechanics I have played with so far:
Mork/Gork - Great that it encourages healing and damage, very cool
Grudgebearer - Didn't really play with it much, but it seems like it will be really cool with a healing buddy or offtank to give benefit to.

Do Runepriests and zealots have any special mechanic or are they just straight healer, buffer, nuker?

Is there a destro version fo the grudgebearer?

Lvl 10 in like no time, maybe a good two days worth if you're new to the game. Scenarios I have been getting 5000-7000EXP on average. You'll be leveling even if you don't want to, and I want to as there are some pretty sick skills/spells out there.

This is fun. Mork/Gork affects spells in various ways (decreases cast time to make that heal an instant-run-gun cast or Brain Busta insta cast, or ups the ante on Big Waaaaagh!) so you're not just spamming one over another (although I wont lie, I spam Life Leaka to build up the Insta Cast Bigger Better and Greener).

Well the first 20 levels of WoW are pretty fast (talking original not the new level-to-60-in-a-week) but I'd say WAR is slightly faster to 20 but about the same or slower for the first few levels.

I recall when trying out my WoW characters I would get to level 6 in an hour then it would slow down. WAR doesn't do this. My first night about 4 hours of questing and doing pvp I was at level 7. Last night I did a couple quests and a few Scenarios (about 1 hour) and got to level 8.

I'd say it will take about a week of semi-casual play to get to level 20... considering there are already plenty of level 11+ people the second night on Preview Weekend. I'd say the average person takes 3 weeks to get to level 40, a month at most for more casual players.

The balance of nuking and healing on the Archmage never ceases to keep me occupied. My damage is so good, but then, wait, I have to heal the tank, oh, I need to heal myself, oh, that runepriest needs heals, sweet, I can cast my uber nuke again... Oh, my AoE damage that causes my group to heal is up, sweet!....

Swordmaster's balance mechanic is sort of neat. Grudgebearer is an AWESOME mechanic. At full Grudge, an IB is a wrecking ball. Put your Oath Friend on your RP and go to town.

Zealots and Runepriests really don't have much of a mechanic, their original mechanic being too complex and cumbersome to really implement from what I have read.

And the Destro version of the Ironbreaker was going to be the Dark Elf tank, the Blackguard. It was a reverse of the mechanic from what I recall though, gaining damage by attacking. It was cut before beta testers even got to it.

Make sure you are not hitting your upload cap, that will hinder you, but if you throttle upload too much that will slow your DL down as well. Check the individual connections, if you are getting a bunch of slow rates, it is most likely still a router/problem. I always have firewall issues and have to fiddle with crap repeatedly. You could try plugging straight from the modem or just drop firewalls and see if that helps.

edit: btw I was getting 170k down 100 up or so, when on a good torrent I can pull 500-600k down and this was before OB started so there should of been plenty of people.

That torrent is not going to go any faster. The consensus seems to be it zipped along BEFORE people were getting Beta Keys off the internet, but now 50-200kbp/s is the norm. I decided to get mine from Fileplanet and it didn't go faster than 300kbp/s.

You're able to upload faster because you're uploading what you have to multiple people at once. In fact, its probably choking your download, I would throttle it back through the client settings.

Edit: D'oh I am slow. I would also recommend uTorrent as a superb torrent client for those looking. Although I do occasionally have issues with its memory usage if I leave it open (I mostly torrent when I'm not there so its not big deal).

You have 3 levels of balance. Balanced, Improved, Perfect. Some moves will move you forward in stances others will pull you back. Some moves required Perfect but knock you down to improved or balanced. The longer you stay in Improved/perfect the better your damage. It can be countered if the enemy knocks/stuns you. It's kinda of a rogue-ish mechanic. Cycling through your moves to keep you balanced is a nice mechanic with good rewards [effects/damage]

(Note: Same as the Black Orc but called plans not balance)

The basic concept is you are in one of three balances. You have moves that can be done in any balance or require a specific balance level. I'll call them A, B and C (forget their real names).

So you may have "Strike" that can be done in any balance and puts you in B.
You'll have "Double Strike" that requires B and puts you in C
You'll then have another that requires C and may put you back to B or A.

I haven't played SM/BO in a while so can't give specifics but it's a neat concept as it requires interesting rotations of take/give on what level you're at and where the next move will take you.
