While this thread is alive and kicking, I'm trying to remember a drink I used to love as a kid. Each plastic bottle had a character's face sculpted into it (i.e. the bottle was shaped like the character). Every flavor had a different character.
Actually, I have a friend who is married to a German. She told me that there is a beer in Germany called Kinderbier which tastes kind of like Guinness but has no alcohol. It's literally "Beer for Kids".

Yeah, pretty standard to have non-alcoholic beer. Main brand of that here in the states is O'Doul's
Yeah, but here in the states you generally don't give O'Doul's to kids.
I'm assuming you also don't in Germany. That's probably either a nickname or just what the words for what they call it literally mean when directly translated, even though it's not actually intended for kids. Pretty sure my German teacher in highschool would have told us about that if they actually gave it to kids, she always told us about stuff like that.
I could be wrong, but that's my assumption based on the name.

No, kinderbier is for kids, at least according to my friend's wife.

German perspective: So I've never heard anyone call it "Kinderbier" ("childrens beer" in english). It's called Malzbier ("malt beer"). It has almost no alcohol (< 0,5%) and doesn't taste very much like guinness. It's often very sweet and yes, you give it to kids. The only bad thing about it is the sugar and I'm sure cola has way more of that.
