I don't know about the other two, but the Colts ALWAYS win until they have their playoff seed sewn up, and the Patriots seem to have begun the inevitable Salary Cap Slide O' Doom. Happened to Baltimore, happened to Green Bay, happens to everybody, it's starting to happen to New England.
Perhaps, but I'd like to think of it as Shanny's ability to make Bellicheck his bitch. Which, until recently, I though was impossible.

Oh fuck, I chose the right moment to start paying attention.
I can't believe he dropped the ball. Damn it. And Vick will get the blame.

So, did Green Day sell out by playing with U2, or did U2 sell out by playing with Green Day?
So, did Green Day sell out by playing with U2, or did U2 sell out by playing with Green Day?
Your question implies that neither sold out already. Which I find incorrect.
So, the Saints, good team flying under the radar or average team riding high on emotional return to their ravaged hometown for the first time in too long?
Saints are a mediocre team. Atlanta played like a bunch of high schoolers tonight. Vick is an average passer, and was slightly off, combined with receivers suddenly forgetting they are in the NFL, and you have a craptastical offense. Didn't help that for some reason Atlanta forgot in the first half how to run. I was also very impressed with the subtle Saints plan to use the brand new turf to completely remove ability to use cutback lanes, since every cut resulted in falling over.

I don't know what's more pathetic, you're excuses or your lack of knowledge about the teams in your division.
The Saints are a good team. I'm not sure if their schedule will allow them to reach the playoffs, but they'll be a fun team to watch this year. Their defense isn't bad and their offense can be fantastic when clicking. There's a lot of talent on this team, and if I'm not mistaken, McCalister and Bush both cut quite well today when running against the "vaunted" Falcons defense.
I'm not knocking the Saints buddy, I'm just saying that they aren't as good as they looked tonight, and the Falcons aren't as bad. I honestly anticipated a close game tonight, and figured the Saints had a good chance of winning. I'm not making excuses for my team either. In fact if you noticed, I pointed out that they played horribly and deserved to lose.
The fun thing is that both teams play again later this year, so we get to see what happens then.

Oh man DA BEARS are just tearing it up. Expect to see them devouring campers and all other comers this season. Put your pick-a-nick basket in a dayyum tall tree for safekeeping yo.
So Elk, when is the Vince Young era going to start in Tennessee? And I would have been two wins to the better if I hadn't switched two of my picks yesterday
I didn't recognize you at first, with the new avatar. :P
I will be pissed off if they sit him out this year, make 2007 his "learning year," and inflict back to back to back rebuilding years on us. And there are rumors that Arizona might start Leinart next Sunday; I'd hate for them to break out their new toy before us.

Take that, home teams! That'll teach me to ever pick the Texans.
Yeah Elk, that's what I don't understand about the Titans move to keep Collins in at quarterback. It's obvious, and was obvious before the season started, that they were a long shot at best to compete for a playoff spot this year. Thus, let Young go ahead and get his lumps in this year, and next year things will be much better for the team, especially the offense.

I doubt the home teams are going to go 4-10 again this week, but for now: baaahahahahaha.
I'll kick off Week 4, then.
Week 4 (PA 2):
Indianapolis at NY Jets New Orleans at Carolina
Minnesota at Buffalo
Arizona at Atlanta San Diego at Baltimore Miami at Houston
San Francisco at Kansas City Dallas at Tennessee
Detroit at St. Louis
Jacksonville at Washington Cleveland at Oakland
New England at Cincinnati
Seattle at Chicago
Green Bay at Philadelphia
Chargers/Ravens and Seahawks/Bears are tough ones to call. I'm loath to pick Miami, but they're playing the Texans so I kind of have to.

I am firmly convinced that Qwest Field is the 5th level of Hell. Maybe even the 6th.
*sighs* My poor Giants.
It's weird being such a dedicated baseball fan in Seattle and going to Safeco Field, where the fans are so reserved, and then coming to Qwest, where literally every fan is screaming at the top of their lungs. I honestly don't know what the fuck happened to football in the Northwest. I just don't know. But it is so fun to be there on Sundays.

Oh, and by the way, the Shaun Alexander injury won't hurt us that much. I've been waiting for Maurice Morris to blow my mind for a year now, so this is his shot.
Oops -- I'm seeing reports that Shaun Alexander is out a few weeks with the broken foot. The Madden Curse is gotdamn real, y'all. They could offer me millions of dollars to be on the cover, and I'd still have to consider it pretty seriously.
All Madden cover players are just due for injuries. Think about it; if you're being considered for the cover, then you've had at least a couple of great, injury-free years. After that, something's gonna happen to you.
This is why LT should be careful this season. It's payback time, to the Football Gods.

Which raises the question: how does an EA cover hold up in other sports? The same 'due for an injury' thing could apply there, too, just football's more prone to injury.

I wonder if this is true. That's going to really mess up the Cowboys, I think.
I don't know what to make of that, except I wonder if members of the shock media even had the slightest pang of guilt or remorse when they saw that report.
TO has done some silly things, but the treatment he's received from the media, the NFL, and some of his teammates is just ridiculous. I remember when he was just a brash young guy who hid a sharpie in his sock, and somehow along the way he became the poster-child for primadonnas and everything that was wrong with modern football, all while being the best receiver in the game. Pretty ridiculous, all in all.

I feel the Saints may be a real deal this year. I think the only really holding them back the previous years would be Aaron Brooks or as I call him Mr. INT. I actually find myself rooting for them because they have no where to go but up and they were finally smart enough to bring in a decent QB and not waste their draft pick on a surprise pick like a certain Houston team.

Honestly, it sounds like he might have had a bad reaction to his medicine..
There's supposedly a police report in which an officer reports him saying that he attempted to hurt himself.
I also have a hard time believing TO's doctor wouldn't be aware that a painkiller might cause issues, because it's hard to believe he's never taken a painkiller, and it seems like he might have had an allergy test or something like that before.
Either way, it's doubtful we'll ever really know what happened. I do know that TO is likely troubled, and I wish him continued health, physically and mentally.

Fo' sho'. Not all Niner fans were bitter when he left. Some of us were just sad.
Yeah hard to believe a multimillion dollar athelete who has taken pain killers before would be presribed one that he is allergic to. Me getting a dumb fuck doctor in ellensburg who gave me an ab I am allergic to believable (fucking idiot also diagnosed tb as strep throat). But someone with millions is just not believeable.
I really hope the Hawks beat down the bears like they did the giants and erase the memory of them barely beating out the fricking lions. I would also like to see a strong game from Morris and hope Alexander has a full recovery (hasn't he been plagued by that foot since opening day?).

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
I wouldn't be particularly suprised if TO tried to off himself. He seems to be somewhat self-destructive, and from what I've heard, he had a pretty fucked up upbringing, so who knows what kind of issues he has.
I feel slight sympathy, but then again this guy has more money then I'll ever see, which is not to say that money can solve your problems but never having to work again would sure as hell improve my attitude.

I'm hearing all sort of things on SportsCenter. Like how he found out who his dad was after unknowingly hitting on his half-sister, who lived across the street.

It's possible for people to have a psychological reaction to certain medicine. Especially if it fools around with your nervous system/brain.
NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders said he spoke with Owens shortly before his release from the hospital and that Owens was in good spirits.
"The fact that it has been reported a suicide attempt, he's laughed at that notion. It was a case that medication that was taken wasn't accepted well in his system with the other vitamins he's on," Sanders said.
Also, apparently there's going to be a press conference in a little bit.
