Actually, I'm pretty sure I'm saying I hope that it's good, but so far my expectations aren't very high...
Man, it's got to be the way I phrase my thoughts that always gets a bunch of people disagreeing with me. This happens whenever I say anything about a movie or show and my opinion is contrary to being positive.
Yeah, that's why I stopped watching it when for me it's only value was the quirky way it presented the plot and the quirky little cute characters. Not a bad show, just not my taste.

things i liked about this episode: unexpected chemistry between blond girl and asshole genius guy
*peter lorre impersonator mad scientist
*the fact that someone is making a mad science tv show
*faceless head of a corporation, former lab partner to peter lorre, will probably show up as an alien/hellish monstrosity in final episode
*agent will not be constrained by FBI, instead will actually have resources to investigate things properly, which stops the show from being a clone of the x-files

Just going out on a limb here, but perhaps it's that you do stuff like say "contrary to being positive" instead of "negative."

The last part has me intrigued and "ehh" at the same time, since I haven't seen this yet
I like that about X-Files
They really were just trying to do their job and they ended up dealing with really weird shit

Oh, SE++, how I missed your argumentative tactics and judgment of syntax. I could explain why I chose to say those things, but that wouldn't really matter now, would it?
My opinion's my opinion...and oddly enough, I didn't really disagree with anyone. I hope it's a good show. I feel like it'll be an alright show. Maybe not. Also, this episode wasn't very surprising. I'll keep my thoughts this short from now on.

man what
you are heartless
Yeah...probably. All the depressing drama I watch kind of obliterated my feelings. I don't like happy things on my screen.

man, the x-files wouldn't even exist if it weren't for mulder's unerring desire to place himself smack in the middle of weird shit
they were hardly just trying to do their job; if they were, mulder would be in silence of the lambs instead, because he's a genius psych profiler but that never got brought up ever

OK yeah good point
What I'm trying to say is that I would like a show where they just end up in weird shit without trying
And are stuck trying to deal with it as if it was just a regular thing
Millenium was a good show until the network fucked with the 3rd season
was it? i always wondered, because carter is so good at tone
i hear a millennium movie is next, now that he's fucked the corpse of the x-files.
it was really good, and it had a planned 4 year arc, but after 2 seasons of ok but nowhere near X-Files ratings, Fox decided it was too dark and serialized and so revamped the show to start the 3rd season.. which of course drove the core audience away and then the 4th season never happaned

That's the important part
Ordinary people in extraordinary situations
And I do mean ordinary
No special insights, knowledge, equipment, privileges, nothing
Just a couple of dudes who get thrust into some freaky shit
The FBI agent not being constrained removes her from "ordinary"
I am so infuriated with Abrams' inability to complete an episode of any-fucking-thing without tossing on a cliffhanger. I don't want you to give me all the secrets up front, but give me some damn resolution at the end of every episode at least.
You got me hooked on lost, and I'll watch that until it's done, but after watching the first (INCOMPLETE) episode of Fringe, I won't be baited into watching more of the same. His writing style is so fucking predictable it makes me angry. I'm watching it with my dad, cause he is a huge x-files fan, and it starts coming to the end, and he's like "Surely they'll tell us why
John would set an attack against his own country, or at least who he was working with/for
", and I said "No, dad, it's a J.J. Abrams show, which means that he's going to take that question you just asked, and use it to gain your viewership for the next six years."
Having a resolution is not a thing of the past, dammit.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that this style of writing (beginning, middle, ZOMGCLIFFHANGER), is just a phase in Television akin to reality T.V., and you know what, I hope in a year it's looked upon with the same beguile that reality t.v. is looked upon now for the most part.
Fuck you, Abrams, I just wanted a complete episode.
the corporation is BAD PEOPLE, and they're experimenting on the nation at large as part of the Pattern, stigs worked for the corporation and so did the dead agent
why? probably aliens or some shit, it's the big question that will be what the team will work towards over the course of the series

It's never that simple, the man is always about misdirection. That's what is frustrating. It's like "Hey check out this shiny quarter!" while he buttrapes you with far-fetched-plot from behind.
Yeah I knew that it was their kid but I didn't think it was part alien
What the fuck
Bear in mind I've seen all of the first three seasons and bits and pieces of the rest and I hate conspiracy episodes with a passion
And then Black Liaison Guy lists off a bunch of incredibly tantalizing cases.
Plane with high pitched noise causes tidal wave. Man in coma wakes up and writes down realtime co-ordinates of American navy.
Man, that was the point where I knew this is the next X-Files. When you introduce a robotic arm and The Cell in the first pilot anything goes for the series. Anything.

i've always loved fortean phenomena, too, so shit like auto-didactic writing is like heroin to me
Dresden Files had a book open with raining frogs
Turns out an imbalance of power in the Faerie courts had created a tornado that sucked up a bunch of frogs and then dropped them all on Chicago
I watched this tonight. It wasn't perfect but it was good enough to make me want to watch more. Hopefully the directing and acting even out, the girl had a couple of lines that were really out there.

cool! i should probably read it sometime soon then
curse my lack of disposable income

far-fetched plot is in my blood
i mean, shit, reanimation? no problem, we mentioned it in the first half-hour of the pilot
where do you go from there
That's always a possibility

I am loving this show so much, and I am hoping for some awesome interactiveness via some sweet ARG action.
I love crazy old mad scientist dude watching Spongebob and declaring it "surprisingly profound".
i like how every part of that site is a teaser for a possible upcoming episode
i also like how the employee access doesn't even submit a form, it just goes straight to 'access denied'
Well, hello Jensen. What's that? You want me to see your abs? Well, if you insist.
edit: Seriously, Supernatural is a fucking amazing television show.
So uh
Keep your eyes open for login shit
EDIT Nevermind I see what you mean
