I've been having some issues with my vista workstation and I finally have time to compile them here for you people to devour.
The specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad
4GB RAM
Dual Nvidia Quadro (not SLI)
Windows Vista Business
Two problems
1) I do a tremendous amount of work involving screenshots. I use print screen a dozen times a day, some days even a hundred times. Ever since I got this workstation I have been running into a scenario almost daily when print screen simply stops working. Nothing even gets put onto my clip board. This used to happen on my old XP machine but maybe only once every week or two. Now it happens virtually every day.
2) Certain UI elements seem to glitch out and turn black. Like right-click menus and dropdown menus. It doesn't always happen, but it doesn't seem to matter what application it is in or anything, they display black. They don't do it in whole either, maybe one item in the menu will show up black, and then when you mouse over the others they will also turn black. All i have to do is right click again and it goes away.
Just to get it out of the way I have the most recent Quadro drivers for Vista, and Vista is fully patched and updated.
Do you use a wireless keyboard with that desktop by chance? Googling yields that your printscreen issue is not uncommon at all.
Yes, a wireless logitech keyboard... links?
Check to see if that keyboard is windows vista certified. If not try a keyboard that is not wireless. I just googled 'windows vista print screen' and one of the links on the first page mentioned something about vista not getting along with wireless keyboards. Might check that out.
