There was a time when Blizzard honestly, truly believed that everyone, Rogues and Warriors included, would absolutely love to have spirit on their gear.
Spirit has been great for some classes (on my priest I love it and I think resto druids/arcane mages get some use of it too, but don't hold me to that), its just it is pretty worthless for anyone without a mana bar (and not that useful for certain classes that don't have a x% regen while casting talent).

They thought the non-mana classes needed some spirit to keep up out-of-combat health regen at level 60. It's the only logical explanation.
Also, classic troll racial: You might gain 3 hp a tick in combat if you stack spirit.
But what I meant was, isn't 3.0 doing something to its formula thats making it more useful? I thought I heard that.
I think they're just putting crapton of it on all the cloth and leather caster gear and giving all the casters (except Shaman and Paladins) talents or abilities that make them benefit from spirit.

I'm totally bitter about how they went about this shit, and as such am refusing to get the CE.
They announce a game, and literally less than 2 days later no one is taking pre-orders anymore? Fuck you assholes, I had to get my car smogged that day, sorry I had other stuff going on that completely cut me off from giving you more money.
I will also never shop at Gamestop again, what a bunch of douchebags.

The really douchey thing about how EBStop went about it is that on Monday, they said "sorry, can't preorder, it's not in our system yet, give us like three days" (literally what one clerk told me, verbatim). Just for shits and giggles I called after I got home on Wednesday (that's day two for those who are good at maths) and was told that I'd have to put my preorder in that night if I wanted a CE. So that was actually TWO days, not three.
THEN an "internal" letter at EBStop told the clerks that they weren't sure if they'd even be able to fill the orders they TOOK through those two whole days (and who knows if it was even two full days, I'm betting it was just that Wednesday) that they were accepting them.
So i say again; if I get there on 11/13 and I'm denied a CE
Unless the perks included (packs, extras, book, etc) make the CE a money sink, I don't see any reason to have made (or just allocated to stores) as few as they did. Look, guys, if it's too fine a profit margin (on top of your apparent billions made over the years, at least according to what that interview said), charge an extra $5 or $10 on it. It's fine. If I'm going to get reamed for $70 for an expansion (including bonuses), getting reamed for $75 or $80 is equally as acceptable.
Now maybe we're all overreacting. Maybe I'll walk into Best Buy on release day and there'll be a skid of 200 just sitting in the video game section, but I have sincere doubts. I'll look. I'll ask around. Hell, if I'm bored at work I may even call around Toronto (within reasonable travel limits), but if by the end of the day I can't find one, I'll buy a regular edition (which I do assume there will be skids of laying around) and just accept it at that. I'm an addict and a consumer whore, but I'm not buying two versions of the same expansion. I'll get the regular one and start playing my deathknight or levelling my rogue or whatever, but I fail to see how many "collectors" they're supplying with the 10 or 20 or however many of these editions they allocated to each company.

Funny, that was EXACTLY the conversation I had with an EBGames employee. They told me to check back later in the week. I'd asked on Monday. I went back and asked again on Wednesday, and was informed that they'd sold out by 3pm Tuesday afternoon. Really? REALLY?

eBay is a magnifying glass on man's insatiable greed. And since wishing for that to go away is unrealistic, I'll simply wish that eBay would shut down.

Gamestop clerk told me it would probably be in their system on Friday. Probably what comes of showing up to ask them about it so quickly after the announcement that they hadn't any time to react officially to it. Showed up on Wednesday to claim my preorder reciept. And the store didn't even get any promo displays or the empty cardboard boxes with the game art saying "Coming Soon! Preorder Today!" until like a week and a half after the announcement.
I'm sincerely surprised that there aren't any available yet.
Though I imagine by the end of October / early November, we will indeed see pages and pages of greedy fucks trying to milk an extra $10-100+ out of people who just want the art book and the pet.
Hell, I don't even really want the damned cards, and to be honest, I'd probably flip through the art book once or twice during the inevitable realm instability during the first few days when a few million extra people flood back onto the realms and most people's playtime shoots up 30% or more, but they'd be nice to have.

Thursday. But, if you want to go to a store and pick it up as soon as it goes on sale, you start lining up on Wednesday, 11/12. Or possibly even earlier, if you've got a good novel to read and some way to preserve your spot for bathroom breaks.

Is it actually going to go live prior to the weekend (probably best to avoid some of the rampant sick days that are about to be taken world wide) or are they just releasing it half a week early for an actual "going live" period as of the 18th, so as to minimize the fighting over copies of the game and give everyone a fair chance to get it and then start playing by the same time frame.
I honestly figure it'll go live on Thursday or Friday, it just seems so... unusual for them.
