I've wanted to learn violin for a long time. I've been playing guitar for...eight years or something, and have always wanted to branch out.
But seriously, if anyone lives in southern Ontario and plays violin (or pretty much any instrument) and wants to jam (pretty much anything), give me a shout.
Edit: I'm finishing up some recordings this weekend with my band. I don't know if it would be an uncool thing to share a tune or two with you guys or not. I mean I talk about it enough holy shit.
Y/N?
i had something mean written here but i think i'll write something else
we've just got a new guitar in the house. mid-seventies les paul deluxe in pretty good nick. the pickups are a bit touchy and i'm not big into the low action thing, but it is a great little guitar. i hope the old man whips out the mini humbuckers and puts a nice pair of p90s in but, to be honest, there's not much in it.

I ain't no good for your punk band
Not unless you wanna make some kind of ska band but man who hasn't already been in 5 ska bands already
Maybe if you put together some sort of mighty mighty bosstones cover band I'd be down
I just recently tuned my acoustic guitar down a whole step, as an experiment (and because I like thick, manly strings but get paranoid about warping the neck on my cheap-ish guitar) and I think it sounds better with my voice, which is still shit, but it makes it easier for me to thrash around and shout when I'm on my own
Also I am going to start re-learning the keyboard soon hopefully, since my dad is trying to get rid of a load of old gear, which includes at least one old keyboard and things. gonna need to dig out my old school childhood 'learn piano' books
It doesn't have an exhaustive catalog by any means but it will get you started with some very recognizable tunes as well as teach you some of the basic picking and strum patterns.
Im' mediocre at guitar but right now my main annoyance is that ive' tired of the radius on my new stratocaster and the neck is too thin for my hand. Not too mention I need to keep 11's on it so it doesn't buzz, and put extra springs in the trem so it doesn't go out of tune in one sec.
Not really a huge strat fan I find. I want a telecaster
The five string market is oversaturated with so many shitty metalheads who use it as indistinguishable mud. Makes you forget how much character it can add when used with taste. However im more of an old school 4 stringer when it comes to basses.
I'm going to pretend the thread title is a reference to Ratatouille, because I love that movie
that said, I play guitar! it is the raddest of instruments. I play an Epiphone Les Paul Standard, which a newer one can actually sound really nice if you know what you're doing. I hate people who hear "Epiphone" and just decide it's a bad guitar.
