So last night my girl friend and I were about to buy tickets for a Kings of Leon show at the Electric Factory in Philly, we were set to go with four other people and we were waiting to here back from them if they were definitely going to go. We were both tired and I told her "the tickets will be there tomorrow" and we went to bed. She had work today and I just completely blanked on the fact that we needed to get tickets, needless to say when we checked about an hour ago, they were all gone. Only scalpers trying to scam up, $40 tickets for anywhere between $90-$300.
I'm pretty annoyed that people are such A-holes like that, and are just in it to make a buck. I feel terrible, my girlfriend is upset and I feel responsible because I told her that they would be there for us.
So lets make this a topic about concert experiences, who have you seen and where, what was your favorite show, anything related to concerts...
i was really pissed about missing out on the sigur ros show on thursday but they started selling the cheaper tickets several days ago and now im going SO HAPPY
OK you know what concert I want to go to
Fucking Insubordination Fest in Baltimore
Two days of nothing but punk bands rocking
Last year had the Steinways, the Ergs, Sloppy Seconds, and ended the whole fucking weekend with the Queers
The festival ended with a loud as fuck rendition of Fuck The World
I think the Steinways play it every year so I gotta get down to Baltimore to see this shit
Seriously someone get me to Baltimore in June
I'll suck yo dick
I just need to see some of these bands because it's a lot of buttfuck nowhere bands that get exactly zero exposure
Last show I went to was when the Bouncing Souls played in July and it was radtastic
Opened with Hopeless Romantic and Say Anything and the place went apeshit
Bass player swung the mic around for the crowd during True Believers
Drummer friend and I rocked the fuck out
Oh and a bunch of local shows coming up starting next month, like three in a row
Two of them I have to go to because my friends are playing
The other one is a local band, Flatfoot 56 which is like a Celtic punk outfit out of Chicago, I think, and then the Toasters, who are basically the godfathers of third wave ska
The last show I was at was a Lewis Black performance, and it would have been great if I wasn't in mortal fear that my drunk friend was going to do something retarded or criminal.
Gonna be honest, they looked a little rough
But yeah they put on a good show
Met Brian before the show when I was waiting for some shitty hardcore band to get done, pretty cool dude
They basically stopped in Syracuse for 12 hours, played their set, went south for another gig, turned right the fuck around and came back and played Warped Tour like an hour away
Last big concert I went to was 311 about 3 years ago, it was pretty good.
Last musical show I went to was about 2 years ago, saw a bunch of bands do game music covers, including the Ducktales Moon level music. It was awesome.
I went to a Thrice show at the Anaheim House of Blues last May.
It turned out they were filming the entire thing for a DVD, and I was right in front.
So they start this song, and right at the intro, the bassist flips and holds the mic stand right in front of my face. That particular song's intro calls for some intense yelling, so I decided to grab the thing and belt out some lyrics pretty hardcore.
Posts
but, uh i haven't been to a show in a long time. last one was superdrag reunion show.
IT SHALL STAND
anyway you should have known better

May the internet forgive me but Myspace actually has helped me a bit in researching lesser known bands.

it would've been cool to go to Outside Lands, though, if just because Beck was there
but ehh
I'm not really a big crowds type of guy anyway
she is ok, but kind of a wispy singer, i would have preferred to hear coulton sing it
He's one of, like, 3 artists I got into in junior high and still love to this day (like 12 years later).
Actually, I would probably mark him as my single favorite musician, or at least top 3.
KNOB? LIKE FROM THE FORUMS?

I actually hope they cut that part from the DVD.
Wait, don't tell me someone actually did that
ted leo is on my fairly short list of bands I want to see live
he is awesome
