So, yesterday I picked up my iPod to listen to while walking to class, only to discover that the right speaker wasn't playing the music. Occasionally, when I twisted the jack around in the hole, it would play for a split-second, then stop, so I figured it had to do with the earbuds and that I just needed new ones.
Today, I went out and bought some Philips look-alike buds and tested them out, same problem. If I moved them around, it would play for a short amount of time as well.
What can I do to fix this? From what I've seen, it seems that my iPod's hole is busted, but how do you fix this? Is it included in any warranty? Can it be fixed? Is it cheaper to get a new iPod?
I had a similiar problem on my 5th gen 30gb ipod about a year ago, I avoided the fix and used it in my car instead so no word on how easy it is to do. This site was higly recommended to me by ilounge.com, the main ipod fanbase website.
It's really easy, my brother did his own iPod and he sucks with electronics. I had to fix mine as well and the only trouble I ran into was actually opening up the iPod, not the replacement itself.
