Well, there was almost a full game of abordight going on earlier. Too bad most people couldn't download it when it came up. It looks good from what I've seen, but I really need to see a full server playing on it to judge.

I have a weird relationship with pubs. I can usually hold my own on the PA servers and stay at least in the middle of that pack or near the top, and sometimes being an mvp. But on pubs I just flat out suck!
I always play a spy on PUBS, it's much easier than with PA.
Although last night I got like 2 backstabs, 3 destructions, and 3 face stabs in about 20 seconds on ... whatever that map is where the middle point has all the trains in it.
Lately I've been playing spy on pubs for fun. It's so relaxing. Especially if you get some sort of instant respawn 24/7 goldrush/badwater pub going on.
Also that cat video is hilarious. Goddamn red light, green light going on there.
PS I missed playing the broken version of abordight last night. Anyone wanna rapidshare it up for me? I wanna play under the map too.
I have found that I suck at back-stabs. And I need to get better at them.
In fact I need to get better at melee in general. I can never keep people in my cross hairs while trying to melee.
I know I could probably play on a pub somewhere to train up. But I find it hard to play on any other server than the PA servers. Its like how I only play Hardcore Mode on CoD4.
Engineer, and Pyro have been my main squeezes for the past couple of months. Sniper is always fun, but I just can't play ball with the big boys of sniper most of the time. I just end up giving free points to the other team.
Then a couple Spy/Scouts started to piss me off, so I rageclassed to Pyro and started burning shit.
Snipers get way too comfortable being scoped in. I stood next to a sniper for 30 seconds uncloaked one time just to see how long it would take him to notice me. I got bored, and stabbed him.

And to be fair, it was the twitchy meth-addled Scouts that did most of the pissing off, but the Spy got the credit for the "OKAY FUCK THIS PEOPLE ARE BURNING NOW."
I also saw some pretty good evidence of Shitty Backstab Detection. As a Medic hiding on the top floor of CTF_Well after a teleporter got destroyed, I walked down to the front to get out and saw a Sniper, so I slide over that way, and watch a friendly Spy walk right behind him, stand perfectly still, make the "Backstab" animation, and nothing happened.
Then I Bonesawed the sniper. And then again when he respawned.

They're just there to annoy people. A real spy can sap a turret, kill all engies in the area, resap the gun, and kill anyone else who happens into the area. Snipers are just icing on the cake most of the time as killing them doesn't move the game along. At least in 2fort.
2fort is an awful example of how to properly play spy. Unless all five of the engineers in the courtyard are completely retarded, you will never be able to stab and sap without four other sentries and the entire enemy spawn coming after you as soon at you stab the engie or sap the sentry.
I'm slowly getting my ability to play the class back after playing a lot (about two weeks) of sniper. Playing sniper seems to have helped my revolver shots though.

Too true, too true. I do run the opposite direction when facing down a pyro, and his damned propane tank from hell.
I forgot to mention last night that I got backstabbed from across the map somehow. I think it was Cango but I'm not sure. I was just running along than BAM, dead. It zooms in across the map to whoever the spy was and I was all, "wtf?" Good times, good times.
