I like your sig, Cango. It's very ironic considering how many times I bashed your skull in last night.
Ironic in the sense that you rarely bashed my head in, and usually got a friggen lucky scattergun kill?
It was about 4 or 5 bat kills, only a couple scattergun kills. The majority of my kills in that game were with the bat, I was getting an absurd amount of crits with it.
Speaking of, being able to knock a soldier back 30 feet with the baseball bat is one of this game's highlights for me. It's like the ultimate bitch-slap.
I was thinking of trying this game. You guys know if they're gonna do one of those free weekend trial things? Other than that, how bad is the learning curve?

There's 3-day free passes available - some of us may still have one. It's pretty easy to pick up, but hard to master.

Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
It's not hard, you'll pick up the basics real easy and people in game will probably throw you a few tips and tricks. Simply keep at it until you stop doing shit that causes you to die and try anything that you think might work.

Protip #1 in a long series: TELL PEOPLE YOU ARE NEW. Seriously. We'll help you out in-game, tell you what to do and what not to, warn you of a sentry ahead that's in a "common spot" that you might otherwise run headlong into, etc etc. Instead of "point clear, push topside" we'll say "Tim, go into that arch and take the tunnel on your right by the double doors. Wait behind that gate for the rest of us."
Maybe not that long, because that's some tl;dr shit, but you get the idea.

Haha, thanks guys. I ended up getting a 3 day trial from a buddy so I will be on randomly throughout the day. I will check in on the PA server at some point too. I'd like to get my ass kicked by unknowns before i get my ass kicked by PAers.

Engineer is a good starting class if there is another, non-newbie Engy on your team. Follow him, bang on what he builds with your wrench, and keep an eye out for spies by shooting anyone your colour who walks in a straight line towards your sentry.

And for the love of god, if you can't stand up after crouching look up quickly and hit the spy on your head before he stabs you.

ooo, ooo, the engineer should get a small laser gun that replaces his pistol. It doesn't actually do any damage, but his sentry gun shoots at wherever the laser points.

Like in Tribes 2!! I remember being able to use the laser pointer to assist turrets.
WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO CALL IN THE HEAVY ARTILLERY. SOLDIER NEEDS A MORTAR.
Turn the whole game into Tribes 2! Fuck yeah!
No I'm not being facetious, come awn!
Actually I wonder what effect there would be if you broadened each class's capabilities. Giving the soldier a mortar would change the class significantly because then he could hang back. You would have to take the mortar into account when designing a level, as well.

On the plus side I was still sick when I woke up and skipped school! College sucks yeah!
Abordight would be nice again tonight. I'm thinking playtest2 has the textures fixed so you can't get under the map now though.
