Guys, I think if two engineers manage to get behind you guys unnoticed and untaken care of, set up sentries that will only be of use if the rest of their team manages to cap a point down two men, then they deserve what their diligence and patience accomplished. Am I wrong in thinking this? Is it a bastardish thing for an engy to sneak into an enemy base and construct a base while his team is losing in hopes that they start winning?
edit:
I guess to me it seems like a really big risk with a high pay off if it manages to fly. There are lots of times when it seems like the team really needs their teleporters and guns to hold the line, and with their engy off fucking around in their base that's kind of a risk. It seems like spy/scout fast capping to me.
It's no more unfair than being one shotted from a demoman's sticky. I don't see why it's so hard to tell and work with your team to destroy a sentry camping the spawn.
The funny part that an accusation of spawn camping is a huge issue deserving 10+ pages of debate, but people take stacked teams in stride and quietly wait for the next map when teams will shuffle.
Really, it was one round from one game. Is it that big a deal?
Stacking is strange sometimes. About a week ago I thought I was on a super stacked team and we got horribly rolled by the opposition.

Well the game has so many counters to various tactics, they may have simply picked the one that your team was weak towards and gotten away with it.
I've seen teams rally too, people get destroyed one round, a few folks make some class changes, and turn a defeat into a victory. It's pretty neat to see, unless you're on the receiving end.
I dunno the whole "engineers managing to set up a camp in your base for you to walk into to your death" sounds pretty badass to me.
Frustrating for you, but eh. Your fault.
Exactly. There was a really good chance (especially since their team was down two players) that this sentry nest would have been completely useless. Nobody would have ever seen it, nevermind been killed by it. I've made it into the enemy base plenty of times both by accident and on purpose, set something up, but then they get a forward spawn and I never get anything out of it.
Then you get yelled at by your team for doing nothing the whole round.
It was a series of lucky breaks for them that resulted in approximately 30 seconds of frustration. oh wellz

The Engineers who perpetrated this, CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY!, tried the exact same thing the next round and got nowhere with it, because like you mentioned the other team had pushed up and were spawning way ahead.
Our clan, Service of the Queen (Twisp and Catsby reference), is coming along nicely now for this Stronger Than All competition. We're getting a server, we've got a Google Group where we're sharing our preferred classes and we're starting to organize.
We've got 14 people so far. More than enough needed to meet the clan's minimum size of 11!
Now, if you're interested, keep in mind that these matches are scheduled to take place Monday at 9:30pm EST, so your monday nights (Tuesday early early morning for some) will have to be open. If you are interested in joining, send me an e-mail I can contact you at, and a link to your steam id page would help too.
Also, while I'm announcing all this information, I'd just like to point out we've got a good number of people who are confident with most all the classes, especially medic. Note I said most all. We're kind of lacking people who feel AWESOME with the demoman. So if your favorite class is demoman, and you're looking for competitive highlander play on Monday nights, this might be your big chance!
Hell I try this every time I go engy on Well. It all comes do to luck on whether or not you even get to the final point as you have to avoid everyone spawning, the spectator cameras, people coming back to change classes/heal, and anyone who was in spawn right before the point was capped/was AFK. If you can do this and manage to get a level 3 up, you fucking deserve it.
I wish that sentry guns didn't appear in freeze cams. A secret sentry would be much more fun if killing someone with it didn't immediately alert them to its presence.

It was two rounds from one game. And in the round in between when they didn't camp, we won. We actually demolished them. Proving the point I said in the chat that they needed camping in order to win.

There probably are, but remember...
...they're demomen. They're probably still nursing the hangover.
