    How do the votes work?

People need to vote, and if they don't, they're basically passively voting against it? Or is there a neutral position you could hold?

Edit: I'm just asking because maybe it should require a smaller percentage, since the steam rolling team might not even realize there's anything wrong, and that makes it hard to get a 50% majority vote.

It doesn't count votes it doesn't get, so yeah abstaining would be in essence voting against if the voting question is "Team scramble now?"

I think a vote means yes and no vote, means a passive vote against usually. Most voting systems have a "yes" quota to be activated.

Okay, thanks. Doubt there's an easy way to make it so that you need a certain number of votes, and an active "no" vote counts against the number of yes's, is there? Just a lot of times I don't even realize people are voting over anything, and I would have been fine with a team scramble if people felt like they were getting rolled.

Does anyone else do better at this game when they're distracted?

Last night I had some of my bet play as a soldier ever, (not particularly good) while chatting on vent with some blokes in another game. It was so surreal.

The backburner at this point in time can ONLY crit from behind.

    Okay, no, listen.

The backburner can crit normally AND crit from behind.

It's not like the spy's knife.

Also the vote system is great the way it is. There was too much mod abuse before and it's all nice and democratic now.

Nobody should be allowed to scramble teams.

How do you think you get better at the game? Steam rolling other teams?

    Be a man!

We beat them so hard, they got better!

But yeah, teams should be scrambled after steamrolls not because of increased challenge on one part, but for the fun of everyone involved. In case of steamrolls, one team is having fun, the other team is watching their spawn timers

If the process would be automated, what conditions will need to be met for a game to be considered "steam rolled"?

No one suggested it be automated
It should definitely be a vote thing, or if there's an admin on then he should be able to do it at will, bypassing a vote
In terms of a vote system, maybe there should be an automated +1 for the Yes vote to counteract sometimes uneven teams (12v11)

You do realize that scrambling teams caused most of the whining that caused the changes, don't you? Edit/ Yes, this is an assumption. Not from the mouth of Job. /edit

I'm guessing that at least three quarters of steamrolls are not simply because team A has superior players to team B. Other changes, such as class selection, communication, and actual teamwork can, and often do, reverse steamrolls.

Edit: Asiina, you get the broked map?

i woke up with a fever after playing hey you's map last night, true story.

but really, I looked at it again and it's pretty good. You took a lot of hints from gravelpit, especially wrt building placement and rocks for cover/sight obfuscation. Point B and C seem a bit open and potentially too easy for offensive snipers, but we'd have to see it in play.

you seem to be using the word obfuscation alot

I think Toons might be trying to say that getting crits with the backburner from behind resets your base chance to crit normally, as opposed to it being built up the more damage you do. I'd say he was just saying it can only crit from behind as hyperbole, but that's just how I saw it. Not really sure though since I don't really know how the backburner works.
