Ok, so my roommate is going to be graduating in december and Ill still have about a year or so before I graduate. He is pretty sure he will be moving out and back home when he graduates so I'll need a new roommate. Since its an apartment Ill have to find my own and Ive never had to do that before so I have no idea what I need to do and such. Like, I don't know where I should post flyers or what, what needs to be on there (besides rent and location), or really anything else.

Sooo... what all do I need to do?

Who's name is on the lease and when does it expire? Cause umm, if you're roommate is moving out before the lease expires, it really should be up to him to find a replacement.

Otherwise, try craiglist, and I bet donuts to dollars there's at least one reputable roommate finder website you can find.

Both of our names are on the lease and it runs out in the summer. I wanna say July?

As for him being responsible for the roommate, I was kinda thinking that since Ive got to live with the new guy, I should be the one picking him out.

Facebook marketplace, uloop, and craigslist are great places to start. Uloop is a site that is college specific, for example, I go to UCSC, so I can only see Uloop postings from UCSC students.

Don't forget to post notices on the bulletin boards around campus.

Head down to the school's res life office and ask if they can help out at all. Often they have a database or listing devoted to things like this.
