Mercenaries 2 On PS2 - Impressions Please

I was following in the forums about how much fun a bunch of you were having with Mercs2, but being a Wii / PS2 / XBOX (original) owner, the only way I could join in the fun was with my PS2. So I checked out Gamerankings and basically got from the reviews that the game was a piece of crap on the PS2. It appeared that it was mainly a re-skinned Mercs1 with lots of fog, slowdown, long load times, and indestructible trees. I really enjoyed the first game (XBOX version) so I was wondering if it was worth the $40 for the PS2. Please share your opinions of all aspects of it if you have played it, and also share if you even had any fun playing it, mindless or not. Thanks.

    It's basically number two, light. It was created by a different team in pandemic and used the old engine. I had some fun with it. However, it's very clunky, and outdated...Worth 40 bucks no. worth a rental. yeah.
