I like Ricky Gervais, the podcasts and radio show are his best things.
The extras scene with Sir Ian McKellen is also great.
He doesn't really say anything in that extras scene. You might have just put a cardboard cut out in there, so it doesn't really count as a display of his awesome.
yes, stardust. tristan's dad was so hot when he was younger. I also loved robert de niro's pirate crew. i basically had a big old smile all through the movie.
They kill the main character off camera (And yes, I know they do this in the book too, it's a device which doesn't work in film though). And then that stupid irrelevant bit at the end with the policeman chatting about his dream

Actually, that was exactly my main complaint after seeing it, but then the guys over at imdb called me a stupid American who just didn't get it.
You know it's interesting, I caught Kramer vs. Kramer on TV yesterday. I had never watched it, and I thought it was a really excellent movie. I decided to read a bit about it and found out it won best picture in 1979. As far as emotional impact, I felt it really blew away every best picture winner of at least the last five years:
2007 - No Country for Old Men
2006 - The Departed
2005 - Crash
2004 - Million Dollar Baby
2003- Return of the King
Funny thing is, each of those five years I think there was a better movie than the winner. Also, I didn't realize Juno had a nod last year.
Off topic, why the hate on number names?

did I miss something? maybe should I watch it again?
I don't know. Maybe it's just not your thing. I'm a fan of Travis Bickle's monologues and his general insanity. Harvey Keitel as teenage Jodie Foster's pimp is pretty badass too.
What I'm wondering is if I want to make pancakes at 6 AM.
Is there any reason not to?
No real reason, but there's a major ant problem around here so if I don't clean every damn thing thoroughly they'll be all over the place in a few hours.

The proper solution is to eat the ants.

you know what, i take that back.
i only have such a strong response to the film because it's a critically-acclaimed movie.
it wasn't utter dogshit, it just left me with no "emotional impact" as our friend lang4six puts it.

Seconds later.
"Now... tell me all about my beloved England!

I admit I automatically wrote this movie off when I heard about it. Is it worth a damn?
Edit: I can't let it pass. I have to add One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest to my short list of favorite 70s films.
What are you talking about it's always been TWW.
This is a good indicator that it's time to get the Hell off the internet and get some fucking sleep.
Night!
Damn, I still have a lot of The Office to watch. And I guess I'll be watching Chuck soon as well.
Or, at least, do we think we're that classy?

Proteiny
Like, as a side dish or just mixed in there?
"Hey ants, do these taste off to you?"
They're actually not bad. A little salty. Of course as soon as you realize you're eating them you go:
"OH GOD FUCK SHIT FUCK GOD WHAT THE FUCK SHIT BLAARRRRRGHHH SPIT SPIT BLAAARGGGGH THERE'S NOT ENOUGH WATER IN THE WORLD."
