This image was found of Sega's TGS page but was promptly removed after discovery. Going from this image, the name's going to be 7th Dragon and might have some resemblances to Etrian Odyssey. Protectors yay.

That's a rough report. Composer doesn't add any points?
I'm going to hold off judgment till next week's famitsu where this game is supposed to get some light shed upon it. At this point though it seems quite promising considering the people working on it and I've no problem with the artist.

Wasn't Galaxy Angel actually rumored for a US release at one point?

Not just rumored IIRC. I'm almost positive Broccoli representatives at an Otakon mentioned they were trying to find a publisher to handle it stateside.

Summer of 2006, baby!
Which is why you don't make off-hand comments at conventions, you jackasses. They told people that the rights had been picked up by someone for localization, and then it just sort of dropped off the face of the planet.

I'm guessing the reaction was similar to what happened when Metal Wolf Chaos' developers tried to get it localized.
Updated the OP with some new information about the game and a magazine scan with screenshots. Looks like they're going for a classic RPG feel complete with old school character classes.
Reminds me of Dragon Quest Monsters. If it's possible to catch and raise them then I'm sold. Probably not though due to the whole dragon world dominance thing. Also, I need to get Etrian Odyssey sometime.
The information that has come out for the game so far does have a very Etrian Odyssey vibe about it - not surprising, considering the director. Completely custom parties, classes each with distinct skill trees, and four different appearances for each type, there's definitely some parallels. One could even stretch a bit and make parallels between the seven classes in this game and seven of the original Etrian Odyssey classes... it'll be interesting to see how this develops!
If Sega made a Skies of Arcadia 2 then it'd be done by the Valkyria Chronicles team (since SoA's director directed VC and put Vyse and Aika in it). All we can do is pray that that's what they're working on now...
Anyway, this sounds good but I really think Level 5's announcements and Infinite Space completely overshadowed it. A DS RPG with Studio Ghibli animation? A PSP RPG where you control a robot and the entire world is made out of fucking cardboard? A PSP Horror RPG? All sound awesome.

Is that a Homeworld/dating sim hybrid? Cause that sounds spectacular.

(They were pretty much laughed at.)
Thoughts of Shenmue 3 make Baby Jesus cry.
Honestly and truly, if I win the Mega Millions lottery I'm going to fund Shenmue 3 up to $10 million. Swear to god, I will.
Wow that game looks awesome. I assume if I got the game I would have to import it?

It does seem like a DQ sort of game but with a more customizable party. Awesome.

But I do love class based RPGs, so this could be neat. As long as its more JRPG and less Etrian Odyssey.
