i got vague memories of all that from high school
the teacher gave some links for help on writing that ill be looking at later as well
so that just leaves research and thinking of what to say
if only there were a way to easily turn these golden nuggets of posts into fully formed and applicable pieces of writing
some japanese girl just left australia after being here for like a few years or something
and then a mutual friend told me that she went out with a couple friends and they bought ugg boots for her and were mailing them to her in japan as a gift
Do you guys have "dorms" in the classic sense? At UCSD, I lived in on-campus apartments. We had our own bathroom, kitchen, living room, balcony, and 2 bedrooms for 4 guys.
If I ever have to deal with that god-forsaken university again, it'll be too soon. Do most universities make it abundantly clear that they hate you and want to make things as frustrating as possible?

Like a < 100 square foot room with two beds, a desk, and a dresser.
I just transferred out of a community college and into UC Berkeley. I live on campus; it's enjoyable. I live in one of the quieter residential areas which makes it easy to study. I was surprised by the abundancy of free drugs and alcohol. Shit is ballin' man.

We tried nothin' and we're all outta ideas.

Guys I don't feel like paraphrasing my sociology book
Write three quarters of a page on the three sociological theories I'll do the rest myself
Not that it's hard
I'm just really fucking lazy
I seriously am skipping class today because the paper was so easy I couldn't do it
I'm so awesome
what
This paper isn't due till Tuesday and it's really not hard
I just don't feel like doing anything
I do have freshman comp in a little bit and he's going to assign our first essay in there today
I'd be fucking stoked for any kind of intellectually challenging course at this point, really
For no real reason whatsoever just take a 300 level outside of your major
I probably will
Gonna take a Graphic Novel class or possible Anthropology or something where people at least have the opportunity for interesting input
The few physical anthropology courses I took were actually really interesting. Try and stay away from human anthro though, at least where I was going. They had this new age womyn teaching the course... WHOOOO boy was that an awful one.
I had this semesters cooking final the other day, Chef said it was Excellent.
Im feelin pretty great right about now.
I was about to call you out for taking a cooking class at university but saw you're attending Chef school. Which is actually kinda neat.
Carry on, nothing to see here.
Yeah, this aint no sissy "heres how to cook rice!" class, that practical I took was me cooking a three course meal solo. Not counting a pot cleaner that is.
a couple years ago I was deciding between law school and culinary school. I chose law school and sort of regret it. Everyone says I need to go to culinary school now, but it costs more than law school, and I still can't find a job as a lawyer to pay for future culinary school. wtf.
Living on the dorms isn't so bad. I got a relatively small school but I met a lot of new people. Oh and my roommate randomly disappeared , so I have my place to myself for the most part. My suite mates are obnoxiously loud.

Oh yeah, its definitely pricey. Luckily Im a spoiled little bastard and my parents are footing the bill.
Until I graduate, then I get to start paying it back.
The certificate I plan to supplement it with is mostly 400s with a couple 500s, all specialized. I'm screwed.
I was going to dual major at one school, but I found out I'd get a better background in the one major going through their Distance Learning Center, and an even better background in the other with the certificate at another school.
I think I've settled on a Big Plan. I'll use this whole mess toward a Masters in Language Development specializing in Sociolinguistics, and use that to get into minority language development. I have opportunities to discuss this with some people who've been doing that sort of thing for a while, so they'll be able to tell me how reasonable I'm being.
No one will know what I do, no matter how many times I explain it. Maybe they'll think I teach Spanish or something. I dunno.
I would probably be further ahead in my career if I'd just skipped university and taught myself Computer Science
I mean, I was already doing a lot of web programming before I even started uni, and though they taught me some good stuff about software engineering, mostly it's stuff I would've picked up myself
I had to commute over an hour each way to get to my classes, so I never really did any of the social stuff either, definitely didn't make any long term friends there
An upside of the course was the year of work experience, which for me turned into 5 years at a big company doing basically nothing because it wasn't anything close to the area of computing I wanted to be in
That's not really the university's fault though, I guess

I had boots like those when I was 3. They were pleather. Seriously, it's the same motherfucking design you see on the little kid boots with Velcro.
a few years back? I saw a girl wearing them last week! It was eighty degrees out!
and then a mutual friend told me that she went out with a couple friends and they bought ugg boots for her and were mailing them to her in japan as a gift
i mean
all that effort

I'm in college so I can go to university because I didn't take the proper courses in high school
I am living in residence
it's a pretty great time except for this creepy asian guy that lives two doors down from me
one morning he followed me around for an hour
just now he made me open a giant jar of applesauce for him as I was on my way to the bathroom
I always see him walking around other floors and standing in front of girls' doors and trying to look in through the peephole
befriend him if he will accept you

I haven't seen people wearing Uggs in like a year
I have no idea what the "hip" thing is now
I have a bitchin' pair of Pumas though

That one had a great line
"Gandhi will now attach the skateboard...
TO MY HEAD!"
They're all HI NICE TO MEET YOU BLAH BLAH BLAH and I'm all
The class that I find too easy is an all university required sort of class
Which means that art students and theatre fags need to be able to pass it as well
Me too
Also I'm in Mass Comm so it's double easy
Fair enough. I thought I was hot shit my first year, but once I hit the 400-level classes it was quite a wake-up call.

I'm so awesome
Yeah, I get that
All over my 100 levels and even 200 levels have been below or roughly equivalent to high school level difficulty
But I am in a 300 level Mythology class this semester and I am pretty worried that it will totally kick my ass
For no real reason whatsoever just take a 300 level outside of your major

this shit is below high school level
today I spent two hours learning about sentence fragments, run-on sentences, and comma splices
there was a vocal minority to the class that felt we were going too quickly
The few physical anthropology courses I took were actually really interesting. Try and stay away from human anthro though, at least where I was going. They had this new age womyn teaching the course... WHOOOO boy was that an awful one.
