I'm at my father's shop right now and about a week ago he set up a wireless modem. Wireless seems to work on it, and he set up an admin password and WEP key for the connection, but for some reason, anyone can connect without having to input a password.
I'm able to connect my iPod touch, my dad's laptop, and a desktop all without being asked to enter a password.
He has Qwest Broadband and the modem/router (hybrid thing) is a Qwest Motorola 3347. I have basic computer knowledge. Any help would be cool.
Maybe he set up a password for the router itself, allowing him to change admin settings and such, but he didn't actually set up a password for the network? Most routers have two passwords--the admin password for changing settings, and then the actual network password for wireless access. My first thought is that he set one but not the other.
I found out the problem. My father didn't make his own SSID and used the default SSID that came with the router, and I guess passwords don't work for that.
