Spaceballs, something new?

So, on G4 they're apparently running a Spaceballs, the animated series show... Seems pretty entertaining... Just finished watching an episode where they spoofed the prequal star wars trilogy, Darth Maul become Outlet Maul (Other in-jokes with that name were in the episode), but definatly worth noting for being funny....

Voice are obviously a bit messed up...


It looks like it takes place after the movie, the episode I was referring to above seem to be a flashback....

    Wait what, I didnt even know this was coming out, I heard rumors about it and some minor news, and now all of a sudden its been out. Weird.

    Wow the animation is absolutely terrible.

    Yeah and I don't particularly like it. It has a style, but the actual animation bothers me. I hate FLASH. I miss the old days when even afternoon cartoons were hand animated. I mean I know not everything can look like a Disney feature but still.

    Man, I like Robot Chicken, Venture Bros. AND Metalocalypse.

    Also, Metalocalypse' animation is only good in the second season. In the first season it was very top heavy (last few episodes had better animation), but the second CD kind of had a CD and concerts that they should use to help fund them, so I imagine Adult Swim either gave 'em a bigger budget, or they just kinda...coasted.

    This is not good. It doesn't resemble the tone of the movie at all. It's more like one of those underground comics from the 60s that placed familiar superheroes in semi-pornographic situations.

    Tits and cocks everywhere , the humour lacks any sort of creativity or wit, and the animation is terrible even for a flash cartoon. Imagine that South Park episode that parodied Heavy Metal, only remove all traces of, well, parody. Let's throw some huge knockers in here, that'll be hilarious!

    I watched the last 5-10 minutes of the LotR episode. Fucking horrible. Not funny at all, and the animation is some of the worst I've ever seen. The ending, where Vespa is pissed at Lonestar for wanting to make her his queen? How dumb was that?

    Any chance of a legitimate Mel Brooks comeback, even if only in a direct-to-DVD form, just went down the shitter.

    Well, I was surprised by two things:

    1. That someone actually made a Spaceballs cartoon ~20 years after the movie was released

    and

    2. How horrible it was in execution.

    I know that G4 is shit, but damn, I thought they had some sort of limit on how shitty their programming could get. Guess I was wrong.

    I watched the first episode, realized I've seen this show when it was called The Jeffersons, and never went back again.
