Also, Shady, are we doing this Endless Setlist shit this weekend or is your cold gonna fuck up your metabolism?
Ain't no fucking bug going to stop me from rocking out to 84 songs. What day would be better for you, Saturday or Sunday? I don't mind either, but we should start early after eating well and preparing the day before. The last thing I want is some random disconnect or controllers dying from lack of juice. Steel Bladder ain't coming easy.

You guys know that BoS is achievable on any difficulty, right?
Oh, and at some point (not this weekend...) I wouldn't mind if you guys, or anybody else, would consider helping me get the Expert Endless. I want to wait and see how comfortable I am with the really difficult songs before I make a decision to do it myself.

I'm not doing that dang thing more than once unless I'm drunk enough or high on life*.

My real fear isn't so much failing out as it is disconnecting from the session.

Yeah, I'm looking at the setlist and trying to pick out the problem songs so we can practice them. So far I think it's only "Panic Attack" and the crazy solo and me needing to work on "Rob the Prez-O-Dent" so I get the pathing down.
Probably....Sunday if not next week. I figure I'll switch to guitar/bass once the all-talky songs come to give my sister a break.
I think the tier system has been redone. What makes sense to me is that tiers are now based on challenge of passing a song. Whereas before it was based on gold-starring a song.
Because of this, songs that are mostly simple and repetitive but have a super complex solo, or portion of the song, as long as that portion isn't long enough to fail you out, then its basically not reflected in the difficulty.
I'm not sure that's true. Of the Tier 6 and 7 songs I've done on Expert guitar, I believe I've only failed one. Battery, during the solo. The second time I passed it after saving my OD for that spot. And aside from the odd rhythm, it wasn't all that hard to pass. I might have failed Shackler's Revenge the first time... But in both those cases, it's a matter of not being familiar with the song in question.
But the complexity of those songs are persistent enough that they should be rated up higher. With the exception of the intro on Battery, everything is rather complex. its not like you're jamming out to one or 3 chords, you have triplet spam in there, those GGRGGYGGBGGOGRG really fast section. All that stuff that would be quite difficult for a person who is just trying to pass the song.
edit: I'd love to do an endless setlist over the weekend. I could do Bass almost perfect. Guitar, I haven't played 3 or 4 of the metal songs at the end, so I don't know. I haven't passed Painkiller yet (only tried once), haven't played visions yet, and haven't played shackler's revenge yet.
I dont know if I will be able to do endless setlist for RB2. I am usually pretty busy most days and I only get like an hour or two at a time max. Maybe over Christmas break will I be able to sit down and plunk 6-7 hours into the game, but even then, I dont know.
It would have to be Bass/Vocals with my girlfriend and then probably drums online on another day with other PA peeps. I really want those damn platinum icons!!! Why oh why cant you just save your progress during endless setlist?? I dont have that much free time Harmonix!!
If one was to take the catheter style approach, do what big Burt did in Semi-Tough. Tape a funnel to your crotch, with a tube going down to a bottle strapped to your ankle.

and I guess just pray to god you don't have the runs that day?
Well, I'm trying to work out what will be needed and what we need to practice for non-drums Expert Endless Setlist 2 to go smoothly.
Probably grab a six-pack of Monster drinks along with some crackers (probably some Halls for me to keep me going). I'll work on switching guitar work with my sister on those all talky songs so she doesn't start flailing around as we get to the last pack of songs (I saw "Visions", "Panic Attack", "Teenage Riot", and "Painkiller").
It's looking like Sunday around noon-ish is when we will start. Depending on any developments this week.
With my luck I'd play 70 of the songs in Endless Setlist and then accidentally nudge the 360 jewel, thus destroying my chances at the Bladder of Steel.

If your sister would rather play bass, let me know and I'll start practicing Visions thru-out the week.
You guys gonna be recording your endless setlist run arikado?
Not sure. Perhaps someone can help me figure this out.
All of the previous recordings I did (as seen on YouTube) were via GameBridge (i.e. playing Rock Band on my computer monitor). However, now we use our new 32" LCD HDTV and we're trying to figure out a way to record from that to avoid any latency issues. It does have a VGA port but all that does it put your desktop on the screen, right?
My other option would be to use my digital camara with my GameBridge and just stream/record the run. Every time I try to test something out I get invited to Rock Band 2 so I've been a bit...distracted.
I have a friend coming to stay w/ us for the weekend to do much rocking. I could see us trying endless set2 Saturday night/Sunday morning, but I also know it will not end well, as we will be drinking much beer that day I'm sure.
I do, however, think I've figured out a loophole to the steel bladder thing. If you do it w/ a friend splitting vocals/guitar(or bass), then you can alternate turns doing voxtar every once in a while to let the other go relieve him/herself. You utilize talkies and/or easy guitar/bass songs if one of you is not super-capable on both instruments....
This would work, wouldn't it? Trying to think if I'm missing anything...

In addition to the "Go Go Power Rangers," they should make the vocalist do the "Alpha, Rita has escaped! Recruit a team of teenagers with attitude!"
Return to a time of refinement and civility.

DOO, DEE, DOO, DOO DOO.
While the Vocals would be fun, I would focus on FC'ing the opening trippollettes. Because that shit rocks.

But I'm to the point where I don't ever fail out on Panic Attack and Painkiller, although I'm far from 5 starring both of them.

For those of you who didn't see it yet, the Literal Battle is what it says it is.
Don't think I can manage that.
The last one was just over 4 hours, and it was 58 songs. Some shitty math says this one will take 6 and a half hours long.

It took five hours with my band... then again we were taking breaks. Not sure I'm die-hard enough to go straight through without stopping.

So if I switch the input over to cable, and watch a show, when I turn it back over, its like I just booted it up.

Keep in mind there are WAY more 5-7 minute songs in RB2.
Especially towards the end.
