I think that if one person puts on hyperspeed everyone gets it, from my experience.
If you turn it on - everybody's chart moves at hyperspeed (sans vocals) for you. If you leave it off, and you join my game and I have it on - everybody's chart moves at normal speed for you.
Sorry Arikado, I was playing with a bunch of my roommates when you sent the invite - I didn't see it pop up at the time (and wouldn't have accepted anyway, since I was playing with others).

God, I just still can't get over how blindsided I was by some of these songs in the game.
Supreme Girl and Conventional Lover especially. There has yet to be a time that either of those have come up and I've thought anything negative - even if I've played it multiple times that night.
So I'm having some sort of glitch with my DLC from RB1. It won't load in RB2, but if I go and re-download it, it'll work as long as I don't turn the 360 off.
I've tried clearing everything off my HD and re-downloading it again, and the same thing happens. Anyone else having this problem?
I need some assistance here...
Ok, so my xbox RRoDed awhile back and I sent it away. I get a new system back with that little note saying to redownload all my files so the DRM can be adjusted.
As I'm too busy rocking out, I don't do this. Live outage occurs and my previously purchased songs are still on my list. Except they wont play. Selecting one dumps me back to the main menu. So redownload some of them before live goes out on tuesday. Same thing happens. So on wednesday, I deleted my entire Rock Band 1 folder and redownload EVERYTHING. To test things out I unplug my wireless connector. NOTHING FUCKING WORKS.
should I call microsoft about this?
This is no help or maybe a little...try redownloading from music store vs. xbox menu.
This is what happened to me. I RROD and got a new box back...nothing worked. I bought cars and Tokio Hotel when new box arrived. MSN fixes my DRM everything worked EXCEPT Cars and Tokio Hotel. I called msn and they tell me everything should work. We went through HD maintenance redownloading and deleting. I gave up and deleted them from HD COMPLETELY so they would not freeze RB1. So when RB2 came out I tried downloading them from the music store and instead of downloading the whole pack it just downloaded the DRM license AND it worked...when technically THEY WERE NOT ON MY HD. Which leads me to believe that somehow, I had two copies of the Cars on my HD. Or that maybe the preloaded song cache can conflict with your real HD copies. Anyway at least try using the music store. As I believe it would force an update of your song cache in RB.
Thats my rambling story. I would like to hear about anybody else that has had weirdish DRM issues in RB.
As someone who mainly sticks to the guitar and wishes to purchase some RHCP tracks, I have picked out the following:
Under The Bridge
Breaking The Girl
Suck My Kiss
The Power of Equality
Any glaring omissions/substitutions that need to be rectified?
Mellowslip Slinky, If You Have to Ask, and Sir Psycho Sexy (despite censorship) are all great songs.
Honestly, the whole album is pretty darn good, and once you buy those tracks, the others would be equivalent to a buck each. If you like RHCP, it's a good deal.
my friend and I are doing an Expert Endless Setlist run for our platinum icons, and the following weekend performing a medium run for Bladder of Steel.
Unless Bladder of Steel is expert required; in which case, fuck.
I believe it's obtainable in any difficulty (except Easy since you can't do Endless Setlist on Easy anyway).
Thank god. I don't think it's possible on Expert.

Okay, so I emailed Microsoft support about my RRoD'd license issue and that the new ID wasn't transferred.
This is the email I sent:
Back in August I sent my Xbox 360 in for the Three Red Rings problem, Service Request ID# xxxxxxxxxx. I received the new console with the instructions on re-downloading DLC to transfer the licenses, which I did, and went on my way. Since I'm always connected to Live, I never noticed a problem. When Live was down for service recently, I realized something didn't happen in the transfer as I was unable to play my Rock Band DLC. I need to have my licenses transferred to the new console ID.
...and this is the helpful reply I got today:
Thank you for contacting Microsoft online support for XBOX. I am Zen and I will be helping you today with this issue.
As I understand it, you're having problems viewing or playing previously downloaded premium content that was downloaded on one Xbox 360 console and then moved to another console.
I apologize for the inconvenience you have gone through. Please be assured that I will do my best to help you resolve the issue.
Here are some things that you can try to resolve the issue or to determine what the cause is. If you are having difficulties trouble shooting the issue, please contact Xbox Customer Support at the number indicated below.
The types of premium content include:
. Xbox Live Arcade games
. Content from Video Marketplace
. Game maps
. Game levels
. Game objects
Usually, this occurs for one of the following reasons:
. You are trying to use premium content that is stored on a storage device, such as an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an Xbox 360 Memory Unit, on a console that is not the console that you used when you downloaded the content, and you have not signed into Xbox LIVE with your gamertag and Windows Live ID.
. You are trying to use premium content that was transferred from an Xbox 360 Core console or from an Xbox 360 Pro console to an Xbox 360 Elite console with the Xbox 360 Elite Data Migration Kit.
. A console has been repaired or exchanged and the console ID has changed.
This behavior is by design.
THINGS TO TRY
To use this downloaded premium content on a different console than the console that the content was downloaded to, you will have to sign into Xbox LIVE with your gamertag and Windows Live ID. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Connect the storage device that contains the premium content to the Xbox 360 console.
2. Make sure that the console is connected to a high-speed Internet connection.
3. Use your gamertag and Windows Live ID to sign in to Xbox LIVE.
4. Access the content.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
...so he pretty much repeated what I said in my email and told me to have a nice day. Fuck you, Zen.
Luckily, the ION kit is wired, so I don't have to worry about batteries. And I already got the kit set up last night by playing a few songs in Quickplay, to make sure everything was where I wanted it to be.

Try disconnecting your 360 from the net and loading up Rock Band 2. Which songs have trouble playing?
I had the same problem when disconnected from Live, but it was the Rock Band 1 songs that all had problems...I think there's just something weird with that license...
Did you also try the License migration page on xbox.com to reassign the licenses before you re-downloaded...?

I only noticed it when I was doing a setlist with random songs. It wouldn't tell me the song, only give me the error while trying to load it. I'll have to try some individually.
I haven't tried the license migration yet since they were supposed to do that when they fixed the thing. I may try calling them before doing it, but it might be safer for my sanity to just go ahead and do it.

Also the new Franz Ferdinand single kicks ass and should be DLC

Is there any decent place to ask for DLC albums and the like? Because the more I think about it, the more I want to do Daft Punk and Blue Man Group in Rock Band. I know they aren't traditional bands, and the vocals would get screwed, but they'd be fun as hell.
So hey guys -- we all loved my thesis on drum bubbles -- how about another update?
I FINALLY, after HOURS of practicing it, just beat "Teenage Riot" on Expert, in the challenges. The joy was immense. So... Did you have a nice day?
It might help you to be a little realistic with this. These kind of CS flaks deal with so many basic questions that come from people who didn't try anything or have no knowledge of the issue outside of it happening to them. What you received was a canned, first level response. And there are two likely reasons why.
One is that they get so many e-mails about this that statistically speaking, send each person the form letter resolves probably at least half of the issues (and an unverifiable number of people who don't try again because they felt the reply was unhelpful).
The other is that they're probably tracked by a queue counting program and are 'encouraged' to handle each ticket as quickly as possible. So anytime somebody complains about the issues they're having with the DRM they get the first level form letter. This is especially true if you brought your issue to their attention using an online form rather than a direct e-mail inquiry.
The only way you're going to get any resolution is to escalate this. Whoever this 'Zen' person is is probably some biscuit siting in a room and following orders to handle each case as rapidly as possible. You'll more than likely need to talk to a real human to get closure one way or another.
Something about singing Master Exploder so hard that everyone else in the room simply puts down their instruments and walks away is more than a touch flattering. Or embarrassing.
Next week? Pretty Fly with two girls hanging off my sides for the "..for a white guy!" part. :^:

Realistic? My email, which was 5 sentences long, exactly described the problem I was having. Anyone with any kind of sense at all would read that, say, "Hmm, sounds like his licenses weren't transferred over like they were supposed to be. Let me check.... yep, still showing the old one. Let me fix that real quick."
Instead, he told me it was by design and that I'd have to be logged into Live to play my DLC, which we know is a complete lie.

But yeah, I guess I'm expecting too much.
I don't get how the reply was 'a complete lie' since your initial e-mail clearly stated that you're normally always connected to LIVE and it wasn't until it was down that you noticed the DLC didn't work. That's exactly how it works for everybody in a similar situation.
And you probably are expecting too much. Your e-mail probably ended up in the queue of somebody who has no ability to do what you expected and can only escalate it to somebody who can. Was the initial e-mail sent directly or through a web-based form? It it was through the form, it was most definitely sent to a low-level CS person who was playing the percentages by replying to the subject of the issue and not the substance. These people are judged by the rate that they handle issues and are encouraged to be quick about it.
You're just going to have to follow up on this if you want to get the result you desire. You can also send a PM to JCRooks as I believe he might know some folks who can help.

Expecting an email to actually be forwarded from the baseline to the right department is expecting too much? Wow.
Let's not suggest Microsoft actually make their support useful or anything.
Oh, and the "complete lie" bit was because he basically said there wasn't anything they could do, when we all know they're supposed to transfer the licenses for you. Hell, he didn't even direct me towards the migration page.

This is exactly how it works. I did exactly the same job for a similar company last year - I was a biscuit. I like to think I took a bit more care to understand the problem before firing off a reply but I know I sent a lot of form replies back to people.
Send another query, include the information. If they're worth their salt they'll check your message history and you'll get someone who can actually help.
Most likely they will just tell you it's out of their hands now you have the console, though, and to use xbox.com/drm.
