what is that weird piece of meat he fries up in the intro?
Isn't it ham?
Best show intro ever. And it's a bit creepy.
I loves me some Dexter.
this is true
and it's ham
Doakes was probably the best thing about the show that wasn't dexter morgan
You know how you can make a fifteen minute long youtube video of Sawyer from lost saying "Son of a bitch!" or David Caruso saying something pithy and putting on his sunglasses yeaaaaahh?
You can do the same thing with Doakes saying motherfucker! or something mean to Dexter. It's great.
Doakes was, by far, the best supporting character. I have doubts about this new season.
Though if it proves to be terrible I still at least have Psych and Supernatural to fall back on.
I liked him, though at times he got a bit annoying.
And the whole situation at the end of the second season seemed way too convenient. I would have liked for Doakes to stick around longer, but not have as much complete, solid proof against Dexter like he did.
I hope this season focuses more on murderous Dexter and less on talk-about-feelings Dexter. Lila was the worst thing and every scene with her playing arts-and-crafts was wasted time.

but dexter talked about his feelings all the time in season one
if he didn't do that he couldn't be a sympathetic character at all

If the writers tried to make him sympathetic in season 1, I must have missed it.

I'm glad he's moving past his dad bullshit. I understand that some backstory is necessary but I just never found any of the Harry stuff interesting. Rambling on about monsters and always gonna be this way, get back in the fucking car Deb.

Yeah... I liked it at the start, but Season 2 was so heavy with the Harry "revelations"
I liked him more as a pure character, not so much with the he had ulterior motives AND was
I think my favorite non-doakes related scene in dexter was when he was talking to the psychologist dude and
admits to being a serial killer, and that big sigh of relief. pretty funny moment
oh, and also the parade for dexter was awesome. yay.
The face he makes after he
hits Paul with the frying pan
was the best.
I've been watching the seasons of this on Netflix and I would be excited for season 3 if it wasn't the only good show on the channel or if Showtime played movies that weren't total horse shit. Ill keep my HBO thank you.

weeds is also excellent. had high hopes for the tudors, but i got bored halfway through the first season.
even hbo is losing its appeal to me. not really digging true blood, though i still watch entourage. i feel like right now, hbo is kinda week, especially compared to the past, with the wire, deadwood, rome, etc etc.
i do love how the other hbo channels repeats the hell out of their old shows, especially on the weekends, like curb your enthusiasm and oz and stuff
HBO has great shows, they just aren't airing right now.
They had John Adams last fall and Generation Kill over the summer, and Entourage right now, with True Blood available if it manages to get any better. In Treatment was good if you could get into it's style. Curb Your Enthusiasm and Flight of the Conchords are coming back, but Curb is at least a year away and FotC isn't until spring or summer 09.
There's also Little Britain USA, The Life & Times of Tim, and Summer Heights High for them this fall, but they haven't premiered yet and I really haven't heard anything on whether or not they'll be any good. And David Simon's next series about New Orleans is coming up in the future as well.
I love Dexter and Californication, but if I were going to subscribe to something for original series, it'd have to be HBO.
I want to punch vinny chase in the mouth whenever he's in a scene, so seeing him brought low was great. also, those writers are totally gonna dick over E. and more carla gugino please

and he dug a hole through his wall and then punched through it to strangle the guy in the next cell
that was amazing
Yeah that was one of the best Oz kills.
Beecher offing the racist prison guard using his sharpened nails is the best

You know who was really annoying? Pascal. I was so glad when they axed her after a few episodes.
Agreed. I tried to erase her from my memory though.
guys, she's like totally preggers
I'm genuinely curious.
Because I've watched the entire first season, and it is just like a poop.
Poops can sometimes be enjoyable.

We all have traces of sociopathic behavior that allows us to favorably relate to the main character. I guess you're just too normal.

Ah well. Season 3 soon!
I like the police characters and crime-solving in general, but just think Dexter the character is arrogant and a bit of a dick.
oh, and also the parade for dexter was awesome. yay.
I liked the scene where
"Deb, I'm the Bay Harbor Butcher."
*BANG*
And Monoxide is right, that's a great part.
i will not kill my sister

Made the season for me after 3 episodes.
also in episode 2,
