Wow, have you ever heard about that show Dexter that is totally awesome and has nothing to do with any books whatsoever?
It's pretty good!
The books are very different from the show but I still think the first two are pretty good. Especially the completely fucked up thing the book 2 villain does.
Well I mean, it's kind of how they're setting up this season. They can't make their commercials for the people who are waiting for dvds. If the season is about X, how can they build up media about it if they can't say what happened at the end of the last season?
"Hey guys, remember that thing that happened last time, you know what I mean, well anyway, it's gonna be such a game changer etc etc."
The trailer for season 4 didn't spoil season 3. I think they are undercutting their own sales by showing one of season 4's main plot points in a preview on basic cable. The people that know the "game changer" have already seen it and don't need to be reminded. They could have cut those shots (it was less than a second) and left everything else the same for the season 5 preview and it would have been just as effective without spoiling the secondary audience.
Just an annoyance as those shots were not vital to the preview.
You fuck Quinn on the floor of the place where your brother's wife was just murdered? Really, Deb? You probably didn't even get all of Rita's blood out from under your fingernails before you started yanking Quinn's dick.
I hate Astor. I know her mom just died but she is always such a little bitch. She was just handing Dexter a Mickey hat and now, immediately, she can tell that he doesn't care that Rita is dead, that's his responsibility, and he should be dead. Oh but Harrison is still cool. She just liked Dexter fine, she likes some of her life changes from him, but he didn't immediately burst into tears so he should go fucking die. Maybe that's very accurate to how a kid would respond but god I hate Astor.
I understand that one of the themes of the episode is how people do or don't handle grief. Evidently though, somebody dies and everyone turns into a gaping asshole.

No because season 4 isn't massively based around the season 3 finale.
Like the entire episode was
RITA WAS DEAD, RITA WAS DEAD.
Now i'm spoiling that cause I'm polite but really statue of limitations buddy. They are hardly going to get people watching the show if they don't actually talk about it.
My favorite season was Season 2. When you first meet Dexter in season 1 you feel very strange liking his character. They do very well to make you feel kind of dirty for liking a murderer. They remind you quite often that he is not a roll model, that he is in fact a murderer. The second half of season 1 and season 2 you start to drop your defenses and start to root for him. Then the second half of season 2 they remind you "Hey, this is a guy that experiences only Frustration and Rage. He also has an insatiable need to kill people. He is a Monster!" Season 2, Episodes 8-10 are so good because of this.
Season 3-4 have done a great job in showing the rehabilitation of Dexter. Exploring the "Hey, he could, with time become a normal person." I went into this Season without any expectations. I kind of wanted something similar to the Manhunt of season 2 because I loved the Cat & Mouse games between Dexter, Lundy and Doakes.
But after seeing the Boat Slip scene in last nights episode, I was hoping they would go back to the fact that Dexter is a Monster. When he was killing that guy with the anchor I was envisioning the first quarter of the season being Dexter on the run killing people every chance he got.
I want Dexter to break. I want him to go crazy and get caught because of it. I want everyone he knows to finally find out the truth, and I want it to happen in the most shocking ways.

Actually- I think that's just the right response when
the husband/step father says "I'm sorry for your loss."
edit: Astor...not Deb. Deb is a headcase.

The interaction between Dexter and Doakes more than makes up for the travesty that Lila was.
If you believe that then yeah I understand why you like season two so much. For me it's hard to look past her. If I had to order the seasons they'd probably go one, four, two and three.
this was a good episode and dexter better get right fucked by the end of it
there is no way around it
This.
The bathroom kill was just too sloppy. It was so out of character, I wasn't sure if he had just imagined it until Harry showed up. From the trailers it looks like they're going to start hunting down his alter ego, I don't want a rehash of S2 where he just frames someone for his spree of mayhem.
Also, I still hate almost every other character on this show. So it would be totally cool with me if a he took a few with him. He can take Quinn with him twice. Who fucks Deb in that situation? "Are you ok?" "Yes" Good enough for me, now let's fuck on your brother's dead wife's floor then get all clingy.

Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
First two Dexter novels are good, haven't read the forth, but dear Lord the third is awful.
