So basically you saw Season 4 as Witchalok writing with Liam Neeson being the main bad guy

That's a pretty accurate comparison. Other than the fact that if it had been Witchalok writing it would have at least been enjoyable for all the wrong reasons.
My wife and I were postulating that our new serial killer is in a similar boat to Dexter and his father in that the Edward James Olmos character is already dead. It seems to me that we saw Dad far more this episode than most in the past few seasons and that would stand to reason as Dexter is moving into a more spiritual section of the outside world. This may be a reflection of that. Overall, we enjoyed the episode.
Now that i think about it we havent seen him actually physically do anything...(pick up the snake, hand him a bag etc).
hes had the same 'advice only' aspect as dexters dad. But where would that lead...to dexter finding out that his fathers advice is somehow a mental illness? If you noticed this season he seems...i dunno more actively helping dexter hunt his prey (like when he suggested elbowing him to get a blood sample). Before he mostly was about not getting caught when he talked.
I think with all those people taking photos and videos, Deb's shootout and rescue will go viral and, as a PR move, LaGuerta will make her Lt. over Batista. No idea if that will lead to anything or just shitty feelings between Batista and Deb.
Also, did anyone check out Homeland last night? I watched it while fucking around with my new iPad so I wasn't paying 100% attention, but it seemed pretty interesting.
I could buy that. I think it is patently clear, one way or another, that
Batista is going to get fucked out of that job, at least in the short term.
She hasn't even made sergeant yet though.
Other than that small detail I could see it young that way.
Also hohoho Dexter got a blowie!

I just started watching season 1.
I think it's pretty great, so far.
I'm up to the one where
they catch the ice truck killer, and Dex gets him in an interview room, he wanders in, sits down, and asks "who the fuck are you?"
And Dex's face is just
That guy not being the real killer was not much of a surprise. The surprise, imo, was HOLY SHIT the kid died. I thought he'd be like a recurring mini Dexter rival or something.
EDIT AAAAH FUCK FUCK SHIT FUCK
So the prosthetic guy was creepy, yeah, but I thought he was like a red herring or something. And then NOPE SHIT AAAH he's playing with severed limbs so shit. And he's nailing Dex's sister so shit. And he killed his dad! SO SHIT.
Interesting how no one is talking about this past week's episode. I started to think it was finally starting to go somewhere and we start seeing how Dex is handling his legacy, Mos Def's role in the season, and Deb in a position of power.
I'm real curious to see what the blond lab tech's deal is. She might be a red herring, or she might bring up something related to
The Ice Truck Killer and how him and Dex were related
Some speculation is that she recreates a crime scene with ITK's MO and freaks Deb out.
Note: I spoiled the season 1 item above because I noticed DRX is going through the first season now. You may want to watch yourself in this thread bud before you accidentally spoil some serious "oh shit" moments.

80% of the reason I am still watching this season is because Ryan is fucking hot. Even if she is slightly crosseyed.

I'm up to the end of S3 now.
That did get an OH SHIT out of me.
As did the whole ending arc of S2.
Reading the early parts of this thread, people didn't like the OH SHIT at the end of season 1? Man.

So I'm only a few eps into Season 4 and already love it more than 3. The whole intro with
the car crash, losing Benny's corpse, the Trinity killer. It's so much better than Season 3's intro hook of "Oh whoops killed a guy in self defence ah well"
I'm so jealous I can't relive watching S4 for the first time.

Episode 4 aaaaah
Lundy & Deb! AAAAH!
Did not see that coming. I got kind of a bad vibe, once Trinity and Lundy sorta bumped into each other at the stakeout - I figured maybe Trinity would come after Lundy, maybe even make him the third part of his current kill pattern. But that, I did not see coming.
EDIT: Also, nothing came of Rita seeing Dex
smash the security lights? Eh, OK. Rita has been kind of a bitch this season so far. I liked her better before. :<

SWEET MOSES FUCK
The end of season 4 was a ballpunch.
Reading this thread, y'all hated it.
That ending? Man. That ending?
Season 4 was just full of great scenes;
the car crash and ensuing panicked Dexter was great, every scene with Trinity was just fantastic, and I especially loved towards the end, when he walked into the fucking police station, strolled up to Dex and so casually read his name badge.
Time for Season 5!
Oh brilliant

I don't know how I feel about that.
Maybe I should try really hard to enjoy the show so we don't risk fusing into one being.
I think everyone loved season 4 here (barring a few annoying things regarding Deb/LaGuerta/Batista). Season 5 is where it was hit or miss, especially in the middle.
The last few episodes were really intense so that made up for it.

I coulda done without any of the Batista/LaGuerta stuff, yeah. But Deb was great in season 4; especially the scene where
she goes back to where Lundy was killed with Dexter and starts crying, saying she's broken.
I'm really digging Mos Def's part in this season. I think they did a perfect job of casting him.
The one thing I didn't like about last night's episode was
when the regular cop just charges into the tripwire as if she knows how to disarm the collar. Wouldn't cops exercise some caution and check for booby traps first or something?

So, you didn't like Season 4, @Larlar?
That makes me sad

or how it differs from regular time
boy this is sucking
edit: man, remember when dexter was a sociopath
is this just like the longest high-school reunion ever or what
Because so far that show is badass, though I don't know how it will carry on for longer than one season

and that's going to be really dumb

Holy shit.
Oh, good. I'm glad I didn't have to be the one to say this. That is the same reason I'm still watching.

I'm seriously enjoying Homeland. Maybe it's too early to call, but it's my favourite new show this year.
I just am not enjoying it as I used to
