S2 heats it up. If you're disappointed with S1, try to tough it out.
I was far from disappointed with S1, but you can see a lot of rough edges that get groomed out by S2 and only get better from there.

"Third Rock From the Sun" star John Lithgow has landed a killing part in Showtime's "Dexter." The 63-year-old actor is joining the show's season four as a regular.
The Academy Award-nominated actor will play a serial killer who has just moved in to Dexter's town.
The new villain's profile reads, "Walter Simmons, an unassuming, mild-mannered suburbanite who has been living a dual life as one of America's most prolific and deadliest serial killers."
"Dubbed the Trinity Killer because of his proclivity to kill in threes, he relocates to Miami after being tracked by F.B.I. Special Agent Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine). Brought on to assist the investigation of Miami's latest serial killer, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) becomes fascinated with Trinity's unique killing methods and his ability to evade capture for almost three decades."
So fucking excited.
YES
Was he the reason Lundy left at the end of season 2? That'd be actually kind of cool, because then Lundy could come back.
Then again, he'd have drama with Deb and she'd be more in the spotlight.
Goddammit
Minor spoiler from Comic-Con preview:
I'd just like to point out that I was right about Lundy returning way back in May. Goddamn I'm awesome

agreed. Lila was completely insufferable. their first conversation about the "dark passenger" made me cringe so hard.

I just really hated Miguel.
He played a shitty cop in some movie I saw once, so nowadays I let myself read a bit further before I get excited just from seeing his name.

So good
Fuck you the Dark Passenger thing is actually pretty cool it's just that the show doesn't do it very well
In the books it's implied that everyone he kills has a Dark Passenger, much like he does, and that they're able to recognize this in each other
Which is why Doakes is so suspicious of Dexter
Anyway Californication starts tonight too and I am way more excited about that
the books fucking suck ass

Coran Attack!
Only the...third one? I think?
Third one makes the Passenger some kind of offspring of a dark god and yeah that book was shit
I enjoyed the other two though
Yes, that is correct.
No, the first two, and the newest one, are really fucking good
I only actually read Darkly Dreaming though.
i cant miss next week's ep!
Is it, by far, the best season.
it seemed interesting because the synopsis didn't say it was full of supernatural bullshit but we'll see
Yeah that third book was just fucking awful
"it scared the Passenger away"
Bullshit
Did Dexter put on his robe and wizard hat?
should I go back and rent it y/n?
yes, it gets better
season 1 was my favorite
season 3 was second fav
Neville I am posting from my grandma's computer I was not lying about things
I think I'll listen to the second one next
skip the third
then pick up the fourth
David Duchovny stars as David Duchovny
season 3 was pretty close to season 2 until the finale sunk it
so anticlimactic
I just really liked Jimmy Smits.
I agree the finale wasn't the best, but season 4 will make up for it
but yeah pretty excited for this show
and john lithgow
who is downright creepy in this
So happily I've seen it, despite my TV being broken.
his voice acting for that area 51 game remains the high water mark for his career
Except for X-Files you mean
Californication is really good and I completely forgot the third season was tonight
hell yes
did you play the game?
I didn't even mean for that comment to be derogatory
But it's not X-Files or XIII so
