Liber Chaotica seems to strike a compromise with the Warhammer World being an alternate universe connected through the Warp, which I think is quite a bit better thematically than a demon world in the Eye of Terror. That just seems sort of silly.

I agree, it diminishes the entire setting when it's "just another world". And being that the Warhammer world is vastly more nuanced and awesome than 40k, that's just not right.

Yeah, that's right. Fuck you kids and your boltguns. I bet you don't even know why the Arabyans invading Estalia in IC 1448 is funny.

Tier 3 has been a drag. I really don't like the scenarios, and by "scenarios" I mean Talabec Dam. Even Arnoc is rare since Destruction learned to use Marauders to get the bauble and dig in at their spawn. PvE is okay, but for some reason PQs have become dead. I seldom see one make it past Stage 2. It feels like exp from PvE has not kept up with the experience requirements for each level.

I need to start reading some of these books. The whole atmosphere in the game and little tid-bits in the ToK has really got me interested. I know a list existed a few weeks ago, anyone know where that is? And could recommend a good book/ series to start with?

Also Morsk, I've been listening to 3IOB since I figured out what your old sig was all about. Really great stuff. Need moar.

Can Marauders jump too? The only short cut I've seen involves jumping from the starting location to one of the disks in the middle of the lava. And I only thought white lions had that ability. Or maybe its just the sprint abiltiy? Which WL also have?

And grrr, speaking of which, the WL has been calling to me. First I play a Shadow Warrior, then a Swordmaster, then an archmage, and now a WL? I'm becoming some sort of filthy Elf lover here....

Edit: And whoops on the double post. Meant to type it all out then copy/paste on an edit.

    What.

Whats funny, and tragic, is that I made a comment "Wouldn't it be funny if this encounter is bugged". The group that I ran with tonight managed to get him going by kiting him, but we still inevitably succumbed to the Fire Torrent nonsense.

So after playing Warhammer my brain has decided that I am playing DAoC 2.0. I like the game, the pvp is fun though the leveling can be slow and feel like a grind. My current highest level is a 14/12 Gobo-shaman. I like the class, reminds me of playing a shaman from Midgard back in DAoC which I really liked as well. But the problem for me is, I played DAoC for about 4 or 5 years. And I think its because of this been there done that feeling I have kind of stopped playing this game and I am slowly fading back toward WoW especially with Wrath and 3.0 coming out soon.

Will play at least till my first month is up though and would love to maybe get togeather with some PA folks. If any of you are on Darklands Destruction let me know. I am normal putzing about in a scenerio on my shaman named Grana.

Man, Bright Wizards are just so much fun.

Even at 14/13, T2 keep sieges are hilariously entertaining.

The more people, the more lag, the more effective I become. Toss some dots around, toss some aoe's, hope the destro healers have bad computers, and them proceed to pick out injured targets one by one and burst them down. Fireball, sear, and then a t1 morale make a great poor mans "1-shot"

Sure I have the armor of a wet paper bag and more often than not blow myself to smithereens, but come on, I'm made out of fire!

Things sure will be interesting to see how the balance continues to play out into the upper tiers. I expect it to get both better and worse.

And then a WE like myself unstealths from behind you, silences you, and then proceeds to tear you a new burnhole. :D

Yeah but you guys wont let me in cuz your leader is being prudish about PA forum accounts for some reason, so im not really interested anymore. They offered me to join some Sugarcoats or whatever and then said maybe at a later date i could join Candymancers...yeah no thanks, sounds too elitist so far to me, and a big exercise in pointlessness when all i wanna do is play with some PA'ers and have fun. o_O Honestly i dont really get the restrictiveness at all.

Not trying to be an asshole or anything but this is the impression i get of the guild so far and its not a good impression.

By the way is everyone having a tough time ranking up? Seems to take a bazillion experience and quests to gain 1 rank. I wish PVP gave more exp.

5 minutes and you gave up on the game? Wow...i dont even know what to say to that. What exactly were you expecting from the game? I found it pretty simple to figure out and play, but i came from EvE which is i guess the steepest ever-changing learning curve ever.

I gave up on the shadow warrior because I had no idea what I was doing. I killed a creature got a shoulder item and could not equip it even though I had all the requirements
I am just jumping back and forth between two realms trying out different classes.

Okay so I decided now that I have my pre-Wrath goals achieved, I may aswell go against my beta experiences (after all, it was beta) and give this game a go for a month, plus I have very little else to do this week and it was £20 in the shops (since when did they start selling games in Subway?).

Are you euros still playing Destruction on... wait, where are you guys? I'll post my Blorc's name once I've eaten and decided.

Yeah I am really looking forward to the first big patch that aims to fix a lot of stuff in the game. The graphics glitches are getting pretty tiring for me, especially stuff that has to do with spell effects.

The other night after I'd been playing for awhile, suddenly all spell and attack effects just stopped working. My DoK would cast something, and he'd go through the motions but there's be no swirling lights or whatever else normally appears. He'd swing his sword and even the little flashes that accompany a hit were missing. It was maddening and even logging out and back in didn't fix the problem, I had to shut the game down all the way.

The other thing I've had happen a lot is spell effects lingering after the spell itself has dissipated. This commonly happens when Archmages use their stupid laser on me, which then continues to follow me forever. There are also some mobs who cast a root which causes my character to be surrounded by rocks or something, and those rocks will occasionally stay with me forever, though these last two bugs do fix themselves when I log out.

That said, the more I play my DoK, the more I really start to like him. I'm really starting to think about switching him to my main, since most nights T7M is pretty dead and I miss all the guild chatter.

So, I'm having entirely too much fun on the Shaman. I've never, ever played a healing-class before. It just wasn't for me. But the Shaman is just so much gobbo goodness, I can't help myself.

And I had a funny moment in Khaine's Embrace last night. It was me and like 4 Witch Elves, we're happily tearing folks up. I'm Brain Burstaing away, and I see the WE's health going down. And I realize, oh crap, I'm supposed to do something now.
HoTs for everyone! And you! WE with less than 1/4 life, stop dying!

I kept all but one of the WEs alive, and all the Order guys died.

And it was kind of funny, several times I was so focused on everyone else's health bar, that I forgot about my own. Whoops.
I think I did get just about all the Dwarf and High Elf "Victim" unlocks though, heh.

It's also kind of fun to be like the only Greenskin the the Elf lands. I think I saw one Black Orc the whole time.

I find a lot of trophies don't display in their default position. Moving them around (if you click them on the paper doll screen it brings up arrows to adjust them) usually brings up somewhere they'll display properly from.
