I was reading through Future Shop when I saw this:

Releases 03 Oct/08. The Drum Rocker Premium Drum Kit for XBOX 360 delivers the most realistic drumming experience available when playing Rock Band, Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero 4 on a XBOX 360. Built by the engineers at Alesis, one of the largest manufacturers of professional electronic drums in the world, it offers all the positioning flexibility that professional drummers demand with sensitive, quality components to match.

Now the price for this set?
350 CDN

I don't think I can personally condone having a professional set of drums to play a flipping game at this price tag. What I would have liked to see would be a 3rd option that gets you to be able to hook it up to a PC and play them with a sound kit.

i'm pretty sure there's software out there that'll let you use your rockband drums as synth drums
i'd assume it'd work for these, too

For 300 Canadian you could buy America, or at least the good states.

For that kind of cash, Neil Pert should be in the box with the video game drum kit.

Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison were decent movies. But not 'holy shit they're the best thing in the world like some stoners and drunks like to think they are.

Hey idiot, further down in the exact description you linked to says this:
When you're ready to move from playing Rock Band to playing in a rock band, you can swap the game controller module with one of the professional drum brains made by Alesis, and you're ready to hit the road for real!

Which means all you have to do is plug it into a drum brain and it's a real electronic drum kit.

That's actually cool, I thought it was retailing for $399, not $299. themoreyouknow.jpg

Also, I was kidding about it being $6000 American. I do miss the 1 CAD being $0.65 though...

They're not movies I would watch ever day or even once a week. Which takes them off of the 'best thing in the world' category.

But thats just me. I will watch once every few months or so if someone staying over wants to watch them. I own both, but don't think they're either that great.
