Google Searchbar / internet hijack

I need a good program to remove something thats launching adds in my browsers. It seems to affect my google search bar in particular, making it unresponsive. The adds pop up every 5 minutes or so, whether im in a browser or not.

Im wondering how to remove something like this?

    hijackthis is a good program.

    Get hijackthis, and then get every other free, legit anti-spyware program you can find. Run them all, one after another.
