Yeah as a warrior 2.6 in each hand is the best... Ive tried just about every dual wielding config possible (two slows, 1 slow one fast, 2 fast) and 2 slow is by far the best. Your whirlwinds will thank you and you wont be as rage starved as you think you would.

What's so bad about a fast MH for fury at that level?
Whirlwind will suck.
But how much of your total DPS is whirlwind? And doesn't the benefit to Heroic Strike help counteract that?
Unless you're already BTing and WWing every single cooldown, you shouldn't be HSing like ever. And if you're WWing every cooldown, you want slower weapons anyway.
I am now saddened. My wife had stopped playing wow almost a year ago. She said if paid for her accunt i could have it. I leveled a prot paladin that she had almost gotten to 70, I really enjoyed tanking on it, now she has decided to start playing again to see how WotLK is. I have a 70 warrior on my own account but it has always been an arms pvp character for me, and honestly i havent touched it in forever. I miss tanking, and was wondering if thisthread could provide any advice on warrior tanking as it is vastly different from pld tanking frmo what i can tell.
You might leave your wife for your prot warrior. Just a fair warning.
FACT: 3.0 ruins marriages.
well she is all about her hunter now, I got her PLD fucking geared and she doesnt even blink at it. I got her hunter geared two 25 man raid status and she wants to start a brand new one... I almost cried. But no, she and i got into some serious shit over wow a while back but we handle on it and are only going to be playing for fun.
Reading that back to myself though sounds like a drunk saying my wife and i had problems withour drinking but totally have it under control now...
only your wife was being an ungrateful bitch at all the high class liquor you were supplying her, and i mean some premium shit here.
this is an apt analogy. Although she just called me at work a lil while ago and asked wtf i was doing with her hunter. Now her plan is to level a new hunter to 70 get a full understanding again of the best way to play and switch to the geared one i left her.
I'll just stick with splattering things across the ceiling with my giant two handers, especially when doing so requires you push like, 3 buttons.

I'm dismayed actually by the fact that fury requires less thinking than ever when it comes to employing abilities. Bloodthirst, Whirlwind, Slam(!) if up, and Heroic Strike for rage dump.
Arms is more fun than Fury. That just boggles my mind.
Too many buttons for every single one of my characters.
Agreed. I've decided here with 3.0 or when Wrath hits, I'm going to need to do some sort of new keybinding setup so I can play less gimpy. It's gonna be a mess to redo and relearn everything, though. Ugh.
I didn't realize whirlwind was so important in PVP...
Nobody commented on blade of the titans. Is it still the "best" 2h weapon for 40-49 BG?
I don't know if it's the best, but after a quick look through level 45-49 blues, it's certainly near the top of the list. The huge amounts of Stamina is a nice bonus.
So I specced my warrior arms today, all the way down to Bladestorm. I love it! I was dueling a warlock outside IF today, and right after I broke his fear I intercepted and BS'ed him. It took away nearly half his life.
Hmm. I'm debating between grabbing that or Rapid Charge.
Any advice?
sunder is better than rapid charge, unless you intend to pvp as prot (it feels so weird to say that).
I'm using the sunder and heroic strike major glyphs, I don't really know what else there is worth a damn for those slots, at least until LK (devastate and resonating power are getting glyphed then too).
I still have yet to get a single minor glyph (which are oddly, more expensive and rare than the major ones, who would have guessed). I'd get the battle shout duration and tclap glyphs for minor glyphs tho.
It's damn retarded what a prot warrior in greens of the champion can do, just retarded.
Anyway, I've found that I like having a slower weapon for soloing (to maximize devastate damage) and a faster weapon while tanking (to maximize my ability to dump rage). Anyone see a problem with this?
Im going to try and get a group together tonight for heroic mech (I want that fucking Sun Eater), last time we did it I had a problem maintaining aggro on multiple targets but I think Ill do a whole lot better.
Btw, I actually main tanked Kara for the first time a few days ago, my first serious challenge (besides that heroic mech) We one shotted both Attunmen and Moroes (our DPS was pretty low too) but stalled out at maiden due to the fact that I couldnt survive through the AOE silence on the healers. We PUG'd a paladin to put blessing of sacrafice on me but the idiot misunderstood and put SALVATION on me. Yes. SALVATION on the main tank. Our raid healer wanted to skull fuck his corpse.
I'm using the glyphs of rapid charge and sunder armor. Rapid charge is very nice for doing dailies. I'm killing things quickly enough in defensive stance that I'm having to wait out charge cooldowns to get to the next mob. I'd probably use the cleave one if I didn't use rapid charge.
Something that I found interesting in the beta, was that using a slower weapon, or at least a non-tanking one seemed better. Far, far more damage and if you make sure there's agility and stamina the stats still benefit you. You lose some tanking stats, but the extra damage seemed to actually help a good bit when I was tanking. Not sure about 3.0 Live, though.

I was finding it impossible to dump all the rage I had while tanking without a HS/Devastate macro even then it could be hard with the 1.9 speed weapon I was using (that is before 16% wf totem). I'm not sure I would have been able to keep my bar empty with a 2.6 speed or slower weapon. I am loving slower weapons for soloing tho.
Completely torched all old world dungeons and got the achievements for them. Sure they may be old dungeons tuned for a different type of tank, but damn was that still satisfying. Besides, I don't think I could have ever soloed a Strat run AND make the timer on Baron before this patch.
I think what really made my day was doing the cathedral side of SM... and not clearing the church. At all. Just right up to Mograine and took the whole place on. And decimated them all in a few Shockwave's.

Well go as slow as possible. 2.6 is optimal though.

I can certainly see why people are loving protection.

Aces Wild is a pretty stellar game.

But that sort of runs its course when things die and I am still spinning with no mobs to go after.
Ahahaha this is just so wrong.
8-)
But christ, without a two hander, they look pathetic.
In fact UD always look terrible, no matter the class or gear.

Cuz AOE Sunder from Devastate would be nice.
Hmm. I'm debating between grabbing that or Rapid Charge.

I much prefer the Sunder glyph.
EDIT: Not so much advice as personal preference, but it's the best I can do.
I'm loving arms so much.

Those happen to be my two major glyphs Sunder and Rapid charge.

Prot is fun to play as now, actually fun.
Does the Glyph of Sunder Armor effect only sunder armor or does it also apply to the sunder effect from Devastate?
