    Awesome. Nice find.

If dead people are coming back, it's another good sign that we shall someday see Geese and Rugal in a dream match. GEESE AND RUGAL! My god I would love to see them in HD sprites. And Yamazaki, but he's not dead.

Geese would sell this game to me, no Geese, won't buy. I'll still play KoF 96

How could they not have Mai? Boobs.. jiggling.. boobs.. ass.. boobs..

What a stupid scan. Son-of-a-bitch spilled water all over the magazine.

Probably spit out the water when he realized who was in the scan.
Elizabeth being back doesn't bother me and I've always like Mature.
I still want Yuri and May Lee though.
    Momoko would be good too.

Considering it's Mature and Elizabeth being showcased, we can hope it's water.

I wonder why they went for Mature without Vice? They've always seemed joined at the hip to me, probably why CvS felt weird with Vice alone.

Ah, you're not the only one. No Mary Ryan, no Whip, no Seth, no Yuri, no Vanessa...unless I'm mistaken, which I wish I was. D:

Just too many to forgive. I'll just pick up the next one, when some of those faces return. Still, Mature's addition is good news.

Basically everyone making a fighter right now learned from capcom's mistakes.

edit: so blaz kof and mvc are all coming out within a week, I'm tempted to say "screw summer classes" and go on a fighter binge. I'd probably be more tempted if I wasn't so terrible at them.

I've never really had a chance to try lobbies online before. Could someone tell me why it's such a bid deal to haven them and what the benefits of having them are?

6 - 8 people watching a match while waiting for their turn. Talking shit and cheering or booing. Only way to play fighting games online really.

It's basically like playing in an arcade, people/friends queuing up to play each other, watch each other play, trash talk, etc, etc. Or at leas I assume. My arcade is not... lively.

Plus it's easier to form comps with lobbies.

    Edit: beat!

Going from having the lobby (quarter match mode) in HD Remix to not having it in Street Fighter 4 is one of the reasons I've already given up on Street Fighter 4 in favor of just going back to playing HD Remix. It's a big deal. Playing 1on1 just isn't as fun if 3-4 other people aren't watching you and talking shit.

Ogura's utterly awesome art for Elizabeth and Mature. Mature is now sporting an eye patch, perhaps inspired by Elle (from Kill Bill). Awesome job, SNK. Just awesome.

    Japanese box art:
    kof1202.jpgkof1203.jpg
As everyone was expecting, they're both better than the American options. Sigh.

Console version will feature two control modes: Normal and Simple. Simple is for people who find quarter-circle motions too hard to do, with all the normals mapped to directional inputs. For example, Kyo's uppercut is up + punch. His super is just quarter-circle back + punch.

SNK launched a new website for the console version of XII. It confirms DLC, although it is unclear on what kind. It also features a kick ass video showing footage of Mature and Elizabeth. Looks amazing.

    New website: http://game.snkplaymore.co.jp/official/kof-xii/consumer/index.

    New video: http://game.snkplaymore.co.jp/official/kof-xii/consumer/movie/index.html

    More screenshots: http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20090508_168155.html

    Enjoy!

Why the hell can't they just use those?

Why does American box art have to be clip art thrown together?

I disliked both Kill Bill movies (though I have the first one on DVD, strangely enough). That being said, it's a cool look for Mature. I just hope in the future we'll see her in her old look, opposite of Vice. It'd be kind of a let down if Vice just ended up in a white suit with black lapels.

Yeah I meant ash, the other 2 are clearly female... unless they're from Thailand, then there's no telling.
If they're going to make their dudes look like chicks they should give them less ambiguous names, maybe something like Brock Mansterone or something.

Having bangs combed over your face on a dude is associated with the "emo style" in America. KoF on the other hand has been doing it for a decade and a half. Ash is a evil, self-serving, manipulative bastard with freckles and a lady's haircut, but he's a dude. And Iori is supposed to be a fashion plate / rock star with an unfortunate violent streak that is beyond his control. That just oozes cool to KoF's target Asian audience. To the US? Not so much.

Personally, the more people rage on Ash, the more I like him.

Mature's eyepatch is neat. Maybe they'll retcon her back to life, letting her get away with just that. It'd probably mean the end of Vice, though.

I dunno. I can't really imagine one without the other--she and Vice are probably still dead, but they're both equally likely to reappear in later games.

Of course, what I want is another Dream-match. Because I'm shallow like that.

Well, Vice made it into Cvs2 alone. Not that big of a deal, but with a character redesign (they've already shown she has a couple new moves), and no formal teams, I don't see why they'd both have to be there. I mean, if K' makes the cut we probably won't see Maxima.

I never thought Hinako was all that popular of a character. She had her uses in 2000 but that was mostly due to a broken system where 75-100% combos were possible with the help of a few ridiculous strikers.
