Like I said though, this tier list is pretty wonky.
Yeah. I play Blazblue from time to time at the arcade in Nashville and I rarely see players who take the game as seriously as they do Guilty Gear or Street Fighter series games. The tier lists are new so of course they are bad, but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot of truth to them.

For example, Arakune, Nu, and Rachel will rape you. They will rape your soul. Jin is solid as solid gets. Tager and Hakumen demand balls, and patience, and patient balls. Taokaka is nuts. Carl :( . And so forth.

Im surprised carl is +4... Awesome, he seemed to be my dhalsim of Blazblue. Can't wait to play this game, I don't really mind if Tager is low tier since I never played the big slow characters in fighting games.

Regardless I'm sure these tiers are worth as much as one of those american silver dollar collectibles. And The tiers never bothered me in SF4. Booya to this game.

I'm preordering on Amazon with the slowest cheapest Super Saver Shipping.

For when this game comes out on my birthday, I will be at Field Training for a month, and will very much want a gift waiting for me when I get back. The question is, do I gift-wrap?

Pushups on your birthday is NOT metal. :x

I'll probably end up playing Ragna with the hundreds of flowcharts online, eventually moving to Arakune, Litchi, or Hakumen depending on who I think fits me best (I don't give a shit about tiers).

I really wish that they would announce a next gen GG at E3 so I don't have to play Blazblue with its crap character designs. All the GG characters > BB chars, which is really too bad because BB looks like a lot of fun.

just so that when GG3 comes out, I'll be familiar with the systems and can play a character I'm actually interested in, like Potemkin instead of Iron Tager, or Order Sol instead of Ragna

I think the characters in BB are ironically, more conservative. Considering most of them use weapons that are...actually weapons.

The problem with blazblue is that it's anime cliche 101.

Meanwhile, GG is anime cliches ramped up to 12.

Also, tager isn't really that much like potemkin. Buster requires a 360 now at least, combo off air grab and magnetism that isn't really a gimmick at all.

Just went to check out the characters of gg x2 and wow. They are pretty interesting. But I also find Blazblues characters interesting enough to want to play this.

    Ky, Robo-Ky... Sol-Badguy.. haha, awesome

Guilty gear x2 #reload is on xbox originals.

At least check it out on there man. Will cost you maybe $15 for the BEST FIGHTING GAME EVER (haven't played accent core yet :P).

Plus it has online but I'm not sure how well it'll be on xbox live.

    You mean guilty gear #reload?

Dustlloop forums have some pretty good guides if you go to the character specific forums.

    http://dustloop.com/forums/

Also, this is a pretty good guide to the mechanics. Some of them don't apply to reload though I think.

Yeah, the one for 360. I have a copy for PS2 as well but the game really is not fun with a controller and when everything is in Japanese. How much did things change from #Reload to accent core plus? Will all those combos still work?

Some characters are changed significantly between #R and AC, though I think the old combos still work. A lot of people actually prefer Slash to AC, even though it was a bit more unbalanced.

I feel slash was a bit more balance actually. Top 3 in AC, eddie, testament, and slayer are absolute beasts when played right. Slash I think the top was ky, and thats mostly just because he was easier to play.

As far as not liking Blazblue designs, I started liking them alot more after playing with them and seeing the unique playstyles I've grown to love from Guilty Gear. Carl ftw.

Yea, Ky was definitely tops in Slash. It's kind of funny because even Ogawa switched over to Ky for Slash. I think most people would have just taken Ky out of Slash and used that as the best version of GG.

But Ky's been my main since forever. Sadly, I never played Slash since everyone is always talking about how great he is in it. Not that I care since I don't really tier-whore like some people do.

I mean look how the Soul Calibur and Virtua Fighter fight threads fell off. I can understand SC, since its online is shitty. But I heard Virtua Fighter's was pretty good. So...*shrug*

AksyGames: aight fools, we'll be showing how online works shortly and other new shit soon enough. As for the story mode, there's crazy amount of branching paths that determine multiple endings. Just to give you an idea, losing a match in story mode can actually lead into another path or when a char ask you specific questions, depending on how you answer them will open additional paths. There's a lot of endings per character. Technically, you can beat a character's story mode within 10 to 15 minutes but that only unlocks 10% to 15% of that character's true potential story line.

Lets hope the online draws, and keeps, some people in.

I just watched a match vid of Arakune vs Hakumen.

That Hakumen player had the patience of some kind of saint...type thing. He ducked under those bullshit clouds and slowly, slowly, SLOWLY inched his way in to shove the blade into that blob's mouth. Arakune's shenanigans looks completely rage inducing though.

I imagine people will rage about arakune and v-13 the same way people will rage about sagat and zangief.

That is the proper way to play hakumen though it seems. You wait for the right opportunity and get in those high damage combos.

It's strange that the characters with the highest health bars in the game are some of the lowest tiers.

Same vid had a arakune vs v-13. supposedly she's supposed to have an advantage over him but it was complete rape in Arakune's favor. I don't even think the two rounds combined was 30 seconds total. I found it odd that tager was dead last on the tier list. I was surprised as well.

I've already got the game on pre-order, and I think lots of other SF4 people do as well. It helped me justify buying the two sticks I've bought by me saying, "Well it's not just for one game."

As far as tourney's go, I'd be down. Playing against PA peeps is the most fun that I have in Street Fighter, I'm sure the same will hold true in BlazBlue.

Unfourtunately the SF4 tourney's haven't been progressing too well. Lots of people signed up and then just vanished, leaving lots of teams without spots, and lots of players without opponents. I've been trying to get a match in for the last 3 and a half weeks and have had no luck. Hopefully the BlazBlue crowd will be a little more engaged and not drop off the face of the earth.

The pounce special is great except it can be dodged by crouching. If you miss, your in for some big punishment, as you'll land right next to them and completely open. Her berserker barrage special is probably more safe.

Hopefully the likely smaller group of people that play blazblue will be more reliable for tournaments and matches. May keep things from getting bogged down or going the 3+ weeks without finishing a match. Plus won't there be lobbies and actual desirable online features to aid an online community? Cannot wait for this game, SFIV and Prototype will ease the pain.

I also hope most of the people interested in this game are getting KOF XII as well, there can never be too many fighting games.
