Uh...is there something wrong with my display?

When it shows the names of some levels (like Halloween, for example), the beginning of the level name is cut off by the edge of my TV. Is it this way by default? I never have any display problems with other games.

I have this same issue but I'm on Xbox360 and I don't see any "display b" option, just the ability to move around HUD elements. Anyone know how to fix it?

I was fiddling around in there looking for whatever options because I play on a computer monitor instead of a TV proper. I'm pretty sure there was an aspect option along with the HUD widget bits

    Yaaaaaaaaaaaay.

You could barrier block to push yourself further away though, I guess.

Im pretty sure a few characters have unblockables. Or maybe not, but I know Carl has one. >:)

Theyr VERY tough to setup though. From what I've read anyway.

    Carl's isn't an unblockable, it's a loop.

Which involves an unblockable, I guess.

Playing carl is pretty hard to be honest. Had a carl mirror match and I think it's both of our first time playing him. It was hilarious.

So far I'm having a blast. Got pulled into a couple of matches by some PA'ers earlier. Haven't put much time in though since it's in the middle of a work week for me (at work right now as I type this) Found I'm gravitating more towards Ragna and Bang than Noel. They seem to mesh a bit better with how I play.

    Holy shit.

Okay, so me in my uber-noobness decided to main Taokaka because I'm insane. I've practiced with her a bit, and I'm definitely still getting the hang of things... she plays very different than anyone I'm used to from Guilty Gear.

I decided to go online and for shits and giggles, went up against a level 25 Taokaka-mained player. In all of my level 2 glory.

I won. I got 56000 points from the match. Went from 2 up to 8.

    ...Tao, I <3 you.

    Dang, nice.

It is an uphill battle to learn her though. I still suck. :P

I'm getting most of my wins from hakumen. And most of my losses from Nu.

    I need to go praaaaaaaaaaaactice.

On a side note, I don't think I was charged for this game.
night before it shipped the amount was credited back to my account after the hold expired and it showed up on my doorstep the next day.

I've been doing decently with Rachel so far for never having played any of the series, winning about 40%ish. Really fun setup with that character, the wind control thing is a really fun idea. Just beat the game on the arcade mode, 13 was a *huge* pain for me.

Ugh, first thing I did was try Arcade mode with Ragna. I just finished it a little big ago, but Hakumen and V-13 were both *gigantic* fucking pains in the ass. Hakumen would just build up heat insanely, I imagine it had to do with him blocking my Drive moves, and V-13's keep away game was just tearing me apart... not *quite* as bad as Hakumen was killing me, but it still took me quite a few games to finally get two out of three.

Man i have yet to even put in more than 2 hours with this game. Stupid sleep, work, and me for watching the DVD instead.

If you think Bang's Furinkazan is trolling you should go watch the Carl strategy section, it basically teaches you how to be the hugest dick.

We have an option for display though in the options.

    Should be the same.

Well, just for this game? I guess not. Though some people have bought the arcade machine which is somewhere over $3000.

I would totally recommend a PS3 for a whole bunch of other games though.

And the PS3 d-pad is very good for fighters. I'm learning my stick though. :P

edit: actually to be honest I chose the PS3 because this was rumored to be PS3 exclusive at first. And also bought it for team ico.

edit: also, the UK has an arcade with a blazblue machine if you want to play it.

Only complaint with he is the setup time for her projectiles, but it dosn't seem too far off from noel's. Bout to hit the sack my self but definatly down for getting some games going tomarow.

my brother had moved the xbox to another TV prior and switched it back to standard. I checked it just now, and yep, he didnt plug it into the component ports/switch when he moved it back to the wide screen

fixing that enabled all the display options

and on that note, the game looks way crisper!

You build up the muscle response in your wrist to do it without thinking eventually. If you're going to be using it constantly it should only be a few days before it stops feeling "weird" to do. I haven't been using my stick until today and I was having issues doing ragna's carnage scissors while on the right side XD, so don't feel too bad
