Right! Just finished modding the Mad Catz SE stick, the stick is instantly more responsive and the buttons work fine, whew!

I followed the guide here though that involves a Sanwa JLF swap whereas I swapped in a Seimitsu LS-32-01 instead. There's a couple of posters there who tell you how to do it with a LS-32-01, but the basics involve removing the screws underneath the stick, removing the metal plate, and the PCB along with it, then rotating the stick S-plate harness 90- degrees so it's horizontal to you (as opposed to vertical for the stock and JLF plates). Then place the PCB back in the same orientation as with the stock stick (so the connectors face the plastic wall), insert the wire connector upside-down (also applies to JLF) and voila. You may find taking apart the screws from the stock stick's mounting plate to be a real aggravating task, since the loctite/glue stuff may hamper your unscrewing process - I think I nearly stripped one of the screws, which would be bad since the LS-32-01 didn't come with screws.

As for the buttons, I used Sanwa OBSF-30, which, contrary to many reports, are a fucking pain in the ass to insert. My advice is to grab a file and file down the 4 little nubs very slightly around the button so that it slots into the holes easily, otherwise you'll be spending a few minutes trying to push REALLY hard and potentially damaging the button. Again, file them very slightly just so they slide in, but don't remove them completely otherwise your button may turn around, twisting the wires or whatever.

As for PS3/360 support, the SRK forums have a thread wherein you may stick in a Cthulthu and Imp PCBs in an Xbox 360 Mad Catz Stick and do the appropriate soldering to allow dual platform support. If you have a PS3 stick instead then you will have to buy a Mad Catz pad (or any Xbox pad), crack it open to get the PCB, then do the appropriate soldering. I'm not familiar with this process but I'm sure the tech forums in SRK have the info. Assuming you have the Fighting Stick 3 Anti you may face a really tough time soldering as that particular stick is not mod friendly from what I've seen - there is a PCB which is directly soldered onto the 6 buttons, and the case itself isn't very tall so adding a 2nd PCB may be tough.

Additionally I find the Seimitsu LS-32-01's shaft on this Mad Catz case is a little too short for my tastes, if I had bundles of cash I'd buy both a Sanwa JLF and a Seimitsu LS-32, dismantle the LS-32 and add its spring to the JLF.[/url] I'll just have to get used to it. Overall, I'm quite happy with the outcome of the mod, took about a hour and 15 minutes, give or take.

Take out the SE stick's spring and add it. I dunno if it's equivelent to the ls32's spring, but it does make a huge difference.

To the JLF or LS-32? I bought the LS-32 because it has a shorter throw and engage distance, and it's fine as it is imo. The stock felt a little too loose to be able to do double taps consistently.

Yes SF has it's ridiculous characters. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade here but BB is far and away more anime than anything that SF has ever done. Spikey hair, vaguely masculine characters, a furry with big cat paws, a j-pop theme song to a super, a kid with a robot that's his dead sister, it's just too much. The graphics are great but they were definetly trying to appeal to a certain crowd, and I'm not a member of it.

The most grating thing about SF4 was the damn theme song, and I replaced that with custom soundtracks. I'm not going to turn off all dialogue just so I can get through a round without my eardrums being pierced by the moaning of some cat creature.

Some people can get past this, and good for them. They are obviously far better adjusted people than myself, or they like to watch anime. That's fine. Some people love country music, but I would sooner jam ice picks into my ears than listen to the dixie chicks or some tight pant wearing asshole singing about his pickup truck. To each their own.

I never played 3rd strike, the character designs really didn't do anything for me and if I don't like a games style I generally won't play it very much.

I can't say I am in love with the art style being straight anime, but you can't deny that the fighting system is one frantic amazing mess that works beautifully. Punish turtles with a barrier break? Awesome. Barrier break yourself in desparation if needed? Sweet.

Say what you will about the art, but the system they put together here is 100% win. And to top it all off, each of the 12 characters has their own style and combat abilities. No clones in the lineup.

ummm...I didn't shout anything, merely explained why I just can't seem to get into this game. It's definetly got a good fighting system from what I played last weekend (though it seems too easy to mash with some characters) and great net code from what I understand.

The fact that there aren't 6 characters that are clones of one another is another great plus to the game, I just don't see myself getting serious with it. I'm happy you guys are having fun, I just hope that what happened to HDR doesn't happen to SF4.

I'm sorry if I came across as "shitting" on this thread. I said one sentence and then got a lot of "Yeah it's anime BUT SO IS SF4 WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU BOCEIFUS?" Hell, I normally don't even forum whore this much but I'm busy waiting for a new IDE to install at work and I've got nothing else to do.

Re reading my previous post I realize that my analogies can be construed as bitchy, but I tend to go over the top to get my point across. So sorry for that aswell. I promise I'm not trying to troll you guys, just wanted to explain myself.

Indeed, I bought my parts from Gremlin Solutions. They've no backlog at this time, and I placed an order on the Sunday, which was dispatched yesterday and arrived today around noon. :^:

The Sanwa buttons are really really smooth as butter. Like many say, a slight nudge is all it needs to register. The stock buttons are serviceable, though they are a little stiff compared to Sanwas (they're probably more akin to Seimitsu buttons, but Gremlin don't keep those in stock).

Oh and yeah I had to work till 2 hours ago, hit the gym, ate and goin to drink. I guess ill enjoy bb tomorrow boys! If anyones maining Carl Mothafuckin Clova you are my hero and we must mirror match once I learn the basics of this game! ROBO PUPPET FIGHT!

I'm a Carl main, but looks like we're on different systems. As for the matchup list you posted, thats from DIO, and if you watch his stuff, he's unnaturally good with Carl. Very few people can perfectly keep up the clap loop as well as he can or get into it as nicely. Thus alot of the harder matchups for Carl seem easier to him just because how good he is.

Anyone on PS3 get in any good online matches? The two I've tried have been in laggy slowmotion the whole way.

edit: yeah there is going to be a patch fixing the netcode, but just wondering if anyone got any good matches anyways.
