Looks like MSNBC will definitely have a stream and I'm pretty sure CNN will have one too.

What's the time period given to each answer? Please don't tell me it's more of that solve Social Security in 30 seconds or less BS.

Just for reference, since I didn't see anyone answer this:

There are going to be opening statements from both.

Then Obama and McCain are each going to get a nine minute period to speak on each subject, which the moderator will introduce to start and then jump in to keep people on. After each pair of time periods, new topic.

Closing statement from both at the end.

During the debate itself there shouldn't be much interference

That doesn't help people who physically don't own a set. However, if you do you should be on PBS regardless.

Okay I had a good idea to incorporate into a debate drinking game:

Try to get several different types of alcohol. Have one of them be REALLY hard liquor (like 151, maybe). Then, whenever either of the candidates mentions "change", switch the type of alcohol you're supposed to drink. It's like Russian Roulette!

20 more minutes to go. I hope some historical comments get said. I'm reminded of Lincoln, Kennedy, Reagan debates and wonder if this one is gonna have as big as an impact.

Its pretty frustrating that my HD CNN is glitching everywhere and my HD ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox are AWOL. I still have HD PBS for the debate itself at least, or MSNBC if I go non-HD.

Better aspect ratio and sometimes things look fuzzy on my tv in SD, especially if its been downgraded from HD.

So you know, in the house I'm staying, TV and computer do not meet, so I won't be able to join in much during the actual debate. I can run to the computer a few times if I hear something PARTICULARLY interesting, but there's not going to be any twittering from me tonight.

This is because what we know as HD is actually the resolution enjoyed by TV watchers ten years ago. The slow degradation into "SD" was the only way they could get us to pay for their fancy new service.

I think the winner tonight is, barring an obvious knock-out punch, the guy who can best distill the bailout plan, or at least their version of it, into something a 5-year-old can understand. Nobody knows what the fuck's going on with it, so nobody's really able to take a side. The MEDIA can't even chunk it down into a soundbite. Nobody's got nothing.

The guy who gives the media the soundbite summary everyone needs is going to win.

I think Obama has an edge with the bailout plan, unless McCain suddenly has a revelation that lets him talk about it.

And... I'm out. I probably won't catch up with the thread until after the debate.

    I'm confused, is this TCR?
