If there isn't going to be a big money sink in wotlk, I wonder what this means for the economy. Seems like there's nothing to really spend money on aside from the occasional new gem, glyph or enchant.

Am I the only one who thinks that both of those items really don't justify the cost? A 3-person mount is neat, but I can't say I ever needed generic vendors at my fingertips. Or at least not with a 20k price tag. And another teleport to Dalaran is nice, but again, not for that price it isn't.

No, you're right. It's a prestige thing. And I like it that way. I have a hard time earning money myself, so when I hear about a mount with extremely nice utility (280% flight speed, for example) and I can't afford it, I cry emo tears.

I don't remember having much problem in Zeth'gor the first time around on my warrior.
Second time with the paladin though sucked. "I was 50 fucking yards away from that guy, why the HELL did he just make a beeline right towards me?"
Only then did I clue in on that damn debuff the eye gives you when you do the quest to collect it.
I had this problem, too. Random fel orcs just charging me when I was in no way aggroing them, and then they'd run back. And of course they reset so if I damaged them, they'd be at full health the next time they run over while I'm drinking.
Of course they ignored any mobs in the way, who would immediately aggro me and NOT return to their spot. THAT was always fun.
Of course, this false aggro shit let me do the Worg Master without touching the wolves. I aggro him and his wolves run at me. Only one is stuck on a fence. I kill him, and the other wolf runs off to get help...
Then resets and runs back before aggroing anything.
the fountain in dalaran where you fish at is awesome
copper, silver and gold coins from various famous people in the lore, making wishes. my favourite is arugal's
"I wish someday to retire to my own tidy little estate, with a bunch of pet dogs to keep me company."
and if you collect em all (there's a bunch), you get a special gold coin you can make your character emote a flip with, and it comes up heads or tails.
Really? I guess that is another reason to level fishing besides bordem

I remember you could jump the fence in one area making it easy to get in and out of that shitbox
The orcs with skeletal spam were annoying when you boil the blood
I remember when the deadeye orc was elite I just remember using my void walker lighting him up like a Xmas tree and praying I did not die

They upped the price. It's now 20,000, but I think it is 14 if you're exalted with the Kirin Tor.
Anyways, part of me wants it because it's there and it's cool. But the other part screams at me for wasting my money, because if I am ever in the middle of nowhere and NEED to buy/sell/repair... I can just drop myself a bot and get all 3 at a mere fraction of the cost.

Re: coins in the fountain. Apparently if you catch a gold (?) coin and flip it back into the fountain, you get a "Lucky" buff that actually increases your chances to fish up coins for like ten minutes.
I'm glad they're making fishing 50% easier to level in the patch.
Well my fishing went up to 225 while I was doing crocolisks in the city so I just managed to pick up the artisan fishing quest before the servers went down. Also, I love how after 4 years Blizzard still doesn't understand the concept of time.

Also, if I make 200g a day on my 3 level 70s (not hard if I do all the dailies) I could have 20,000 gold when wotlk is released.

I knew I should have just accepted the fact that I missed the wave I would normally ride and waited until WotLK to bother looking for a guild. No idea why I was so dumb as to believe a guild in T5/early T6 would be mostly good players. Oh well. Chalk up $25 to my own stupidity for buying their story. Gquit inc when I get up for work tomorrow.
Well, I now have 35 Flasks of Relentless Assault stockpiled up, for 70 hours of /played time worth of faster grinding speed come launch week. Maybe a few more then I can get back to farming gold for cash-on-hand purposes.
I'm trying to decide if I should convert my herbs to flasks to sell and for hopefully getting discoveries or not bother with it with the weekly free discovery thing coming in the exp.

Don't know if this is fixed, but they also (or used to) count :30 and :00 as a second each. So :30 second counters are actually :31 seconds. I noticed this around launch and forgot about it until now.

You have to get 3 achievments, related to collecting all copper, silver, and gold coins respectfully. Then you get the big "Collected all coins" achievement and get this.
Out of those 3 achievements, there's 23 copper, 15 silver, and 15 gold coins.

I think the "Server shutdown in 15 minutes!" message is automated when they start the process of bringing it (or the cluster) down. It's the first heads up, and after that I figure they can manually adjust what the actual time will be.

They can obviously also manually adjust the reason the countdown gives for the server shutdown. Although, seriously, just how many times can you lose Kalimdor?

I clicked and learned them and they were still there
That's just on the PTR, Brain. They'll go away when 3.0 becomes live.

200,000 gold total from all three?
I have 150,000 gold on my warlock I think I have had 200k but repairs, buying stuff and so on keeps me from that goal
You added all those extra 0's by accident right?
And yes, altogether. I have about 2500g total, 600g a day for 4 weeks brings me pretty darn close to 20,000. And then of course there's all the money i'd make levelling to 80.

Money Sinks still exist.
See also, the ring to teleport to Dalaran.
And with that ring I will have teleport:
Gadgetzhan
BT
Toshly's Station
Shat
Dalren
WTB more ports.

I have four herblists and it's going to be real werid come patch day
I could hear the real voice of one of them saying things like Apple? Fire? what is this?
Unless you can't get to the inscription trainers without the expansion (just like with TBC and JC'ing). :P
Oh well hot diggity then, time to start hoarding all the peacebloom and silverleaf there is to be had!
