Like watching SC live in studio. Bring a "Hello Penny Arcade!" sign.

e: So I was watching a GOM game with IntotheRainbow and Susie brings up the Beyonce concert thing. Turns out it was Rainbow. She doesn't mention the fact that the "meeting" he missed was his teammate's dad's funeral.

    Dude, that is fucked up.

I'm pretty sure he didn't know he missed it. But yeah they did roll call before heading out to the funeral and then they were like WHERE'S RAINBOW!?!!?

Oh there's some TL.net vs GG.net grudge match on Saturday. Six games, ace match if necessary.
    http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=79388

I expect the quality of games to be shit. I hope they get some hilarious live casting in there or it'll suck. Plus TL better win.

Yeah but you have to play it all day every day. It's not like "hey guys let's play starcraft!!!" they do stuff like practice specific scenarios over and over, specific matchups, practicing micro and macro, and that sort of thing.

Are you sure? I mean, where do you get your ideas of what they do? I mean yeah 8 hours is a lot every day, but its full of Golem's Madness, Turret Defense, and 3v3@BGH. And there are breaks in between the 8 hours, tickle fights and korean ice cream (honey dew, green tea, yumm). I'm sure this is how it still is, I was once a pro gamer you know.

That's true, you are korean or something, right? 1/4? 1/8? Chinese? A little bit yellow?

Jesus some of these SC comic submissions are bad. They remind me of some of the bad comics in the PA art forum.

If I find time before the deadline I'm gonna bust out the art skills on these goddamn newbs. If not maybe I'll try to catch the 2nd round. The only problem is finding a good SC joke.

Really, the art on that one is pretty good compared to the others

And I've been playing a lot of SC lately just against comps to get my build down and stuff. I haven't played in a while and those first couple of games were pretty brutal :D

You should do a Dragoon/Empire Strikes Back crossover joke: "And I thought they smelled bad on the outside."
It's funny because there's a dead protoss inside, or something.
More importantly, GomTV's live broadcast begins in less than 6 hours from now (Midnight EST). It's all about the ACE team tonight and Boxer's playing in the fourth match.

    I said no bad jokes.

    WCG Usa tomorrow. Gogogo Nony.

    e: Here we gooooo
    http://www.gotfrag.com/star/story/43110/

Event takes place Oct. 2nd to the 5th, I am not sure when the SC matches will be played.

    Group A
    Bryce "Machine[F2F]" Bates
    Tyler "88)NonY" Wasieleski
    Eric "iG.G5" Rothmuller
    Rich "Future[LighT]" Almand
    Geoff "88)iNcontroL" Robinson

    Group B
    Sherwin "ToT)Yosh(" Mahbod
    Dan "88)Artosis" Stemkoski
    David "Louder[LighT]" Fells
    Greg "88)IdrA" Fields
    David "KingDino" Kent

    Player Overviews
    http://www.gotfrag.com/star/story/43105/ and also http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=77998

    Prizes
    1. $3,000 USD
    2. $1,500 USD
    3. $700 USD

Nice prize pool this year, quite a bit of cash in there. I think the format is round robin, top 2 from each group advance to final 4 but this isn't for sure. I predict Nony and Machine from Group A, possibly with Incontrol sneaking in there. No one thought Incontrol would destroy (and win) WCG Usa 2007 like he did so who knows. Group B will be Idra for sure, followed by Yosh. Artosis could also be a contender for the 2nd spot in Group B. Group B is definitely the stronger group. I wouldn't be surprised if Nony won Group A without dropping a game.

I think the final standings will be 1st Idra, 2nd Nony and 3rd Yosh. I want Nony to win, but I don't see anything stopping Idra other than immense cheese and the high pressure he's under to win this thing after having had Korean training. Nony is known for cracking under pressure too (TSL hohohohoo NO STORM RESEARCHED?) but he's been fucking unstoppable in Spirit tournament.

POST YOUR PICKS FOR EACH GROUP! I'm actually excited to see WCG Usa this year. Should be good. Diggity and Moletrap of SC2GG.com will be casting through eSports TV through WCG Live. I don't know what the fuck that site is. Pretty indifferent about Diggity and Moletrap. Maybe if Artosis gets eliminated early he can cast. Artosis is gonna be casting Blizzcon though!

And fuck Canada for not having WCG this year.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or which games you are referring to. But anyways if you're talking about Boxer then they're on gomtv.net

    And about Spirit finals
Pretty good games considering they were PvP. Nony really put his positional advantage to good use in game 5. I wonder why whoever made Othello has minerals facing outward on some bases but against the map border in other spots. Was surprised that Cloud took it all the way to 5 games.

Cloud's play in game 2 was great, it was obviously a practiced build order in which he got an early advantage by manner pylon. He then assumed Nony would go for the mineral only expo which he could cliff with fast observer / goon range. Very smart play.

e: WCG Usa! It's on booys

Hi guys, I'm new to the PA forums.

I usually come to this site to check for news but never really go to the forum section since I'm a Starcraft player and it's not too popular at sites like this, although I guess it will be getting more attention with all the Starcraft 2 buzz going on.

I found this thread so I'm now a registered member.

I look forward to seeing more Starcraft news posted here, make sure to tell your friends how great the game is!

Yea, the WCG is being streamed, hopefully they show a lot of Starcraft this time, last years event lacked.

2 casters from SC2GG.com will be casting at the event, so that should be good.

The first day of the Shinhan Bank Pro League (professional team league in Korea) starts tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that, it's my favorite of the 4 professional leagues in Korea.

Yeah I believe Artosis and Tasteless are casting together. I prefer Artosis over Tasteless I think, he just has a lot more to say about build order, strategies, and tactics. And some cheesy jokes. They're both pretty fun though so Blizzcon is gonna be awesome.

Round robin, top 2 go to round of 4. Group B plays tomorrow.

If I'm reading this chart correctly:
Nony fucking 2-0ed Idra. Hold on it just updated, Idra got 2-0ed by G5 as well. It's over, Nony and G5 advance from Group A.

What the fuck G5 is a suprise.

There are a few blank spots like USA since their national finals haven't completed yet

Two players from each group advance. I predict:

    A: Localhost, Horror
    B: Mondragon, Ptak
C: Fuck this group, its a group of 5 zergs
    D: Jaedong (lol easy), Brat_OK
    E: Luxury, Pomi
    F: USA player, ChinaTTTT
    G: Strelok, Arew
H: Stork, Draco (this group is 4p 1z so it's tough to predict, Lx is in there as well)
