Wooo Super Daniel Man replaces Suzie for co-commentator.
Man that sucks. I get that superfans of SC didn't like her lack of SC knowledge, but I enjoyed her commentaries with Nick. I hope this decision didn't have anything to do with all of the negative feedback from trolls on the various SC forums. Oh well, Super Daniel Man is great in his own right.
BTW SuperWoot, how is it that we like the same games? o_O You must be an old man too.

I'm installing this in an XP virtual machine running in Linux.
I never feel like booting back into Windows just for SC, so maybe this will fix the whole "I've never actually played the game I bought a week ago" situation I'm in.

It might run really really slow. StarCraft is the only reason I'm not booting into Linux right now.
beating up someone who has way higher apm is one of the most satisfying feelings you can get, even if those feelings are mostly unjustified and irrational.
Unfortunately, I tend to be one of those players with the higher apm whenever I play on iccup.

It's fun to beat s when he has like 155 apm and I have 85

This is true, but I'm definitely not an old man. :P
Anyway, I can feel my skill increasing! Need to work more on my macro/late game teching when everything falls apart.
Meh, I think I'm through playing for a while; I haven't won a game in forever. I've been getting more frustrated than anything lately. Maybe that's because the only people that I ever play against are drag and s.
well ok, but that happens to everyone, especially early to mid season when A level players are roaming the D ranks with the rest of us. If Fuga and Melancholy Mark can get wins, then I'm positive you can too.
That said, if you really aren't having fun with trying to improve, then don't force it, I guess

From your post history it looks like your on at somewhat variable times every day. Going to be available anytime after 4 PM Eastern tomorrow? I'm pretty sure I'm worse than you but trying stuff is always fun. Maybe. I don't know. But I'm willing to try
Yeah, I'm thinking of getting on tonight after a little inauguration party.
Consider:
- I haven't really played in years.
- I was never very good to begin with.
- I will be fueled by scotch.
You stand a fair chance of kicking my ass. One-handed. And blind.
ON A TOTALLY SEPARATE NOTE, I went looking for the "how to downgrade a 1.16 install to a 1.153 install" instructions, and I just couldn't find them. I'd love to have both hanging around for ICCUP and BNET. Anyone care to share?

So, according to internet rumor, Blizzard has set a release date for the sc2 beta. They just aren't telling anyone what it is.
I am inclined to believe this, because Blizzard are d-bags like that.
I want to be excited for SC2. I really do. But, after War3, WoW, and the news that they want me to buy SC2 three times, I really have very little faith. I'm fully convinced that the original Starcraft's success was completely accidental; they have no idea how they did it, and they will never replicate it.
Man, I hardly even care. I watched the Battle Report for SC2 and my jaw couldn't stop dropping. I'm dying to play it.
And if it never exceeds Starcraft's popularity? Oh well, we can always come back.
^ What he said. Plus, I don't look at it as buying SC2 three times, but rather buying the game and the two expansions that follow. People never complained about having to buy SC1 twice because of Brood Wars. Hell, Brood Wars is Starcraft for all intensive purposes. The same thing will happen with SC2. There will be multiplayer changes packed within each of the two expansions that will create a different game but no one will complain after a few months (and several patches).

That's not quite right. SC was a full stand-alone story that spanned three races, and went from the first planets being seeded by the Zerg to the dramatic end of the Overmind. It was self-contained. The expansion brought some gameplay changes, and a second story that "expanded" on events after the initial game.
What SC2 is promising is a cliffhanger for $60, followed by a cliffhanger for $60, and maybe a resolution after another $60. Of course, I'm mostly interested in the single player campaigns, because what initially drew me to Blizzard's games, and Starcraft especially, was the epic stories they managed to tell.

I'm sure it can run on a virtual machine on a host with 4 nearly infinitely faster cores, with nearly infinitely more memory.
We'll find out in ten minutes!
I gotta find a way to scale this.

AND YOUR APM IS HIGHER AND SOMETIMES I BEAT YOU
But on the plus side, I can win a 2v1 when I'm on the 2 side sometimes against a particular friend of ours who usually just rapes face.
Edit: I'm so alone

I fucking hate you
I have before, I played about 8 games on a different account. Every single one of them had about a 185ish apm. I was destroyed every game

Quick search found http://www.gosugamers.net/starcraft/thread/326031 which looks like it works but I'm not sure.
edit: getting off in around 30 to get some sleep/do some work if no one ends up showing up. If so I'll just try again later this week
