I'll toss my hat into the ring for a bit of hack and slash.

    Redcat Rising on xbox live.

I'm enjoying the gameplay, but I have to say that graphically this might be the ugliest port of a game I've ever experienced. When I'm standing still it looks fine, but as soon as I begin walking the screen tears all over the place and there seems to be an odd flicker instead of a smooth transition between light gradients.

I started a Temple Guardian and found his gun hand annoying. I have an Inquisitor up and running, he's made of tissue but can make all kinds of red little numbers fly everywhere.

Temple Guardian is more of a support MP class. You can go AoE route with him and rape face on Bronze, but I hear going to higher difficulties leads to a different kind of rape with that build. You can also just focus on his single target melee tree, which replaces the gun arm for a robotic shoulder tentacle that acts as a second weapon.

Well, now I've done it. The PS3 version got me so pumped to be playing this again that I bought it on 360 as well. I know that Ascaron is hurting right now and I want to show them some love for making a decent console port of such a massive game.

    I regret nothing.

I'm playing as the Temple Guardian for the first time, and wow, it's kind of tough. But also awesome.

Feel free to donate that extra copy to someone who desperately wants to play this game.

    :P

Checked the ole bank account last night and just can't pick this game up yet.

    :(

Oh well. Maybe GameFly will send me a copy soon.

Hate that this game is getting such wankey reviews. Loved Too Human and I'm told that this puts Too Human to shame. Jeez.

Looks like this didn't even show up on the NPD. Unless it was too late/early?
If you're looking for more console hack and slash action, check out the Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance games if you can, and maybe the Champions of Norrath games. Also, since you're on 360, Fable II is great, though not quite the same.

And regardless of what the internet says, Too Human is a solid loot/dungeon crawl. It's more limited in scope exploration/world wise than Sacred 2 seems to be, but it does what it does, and I liked it.

However, even if you don't, it has to be on the super cheap.
    So.... a game-on thread then?

Sounds good if you can't contact this threads OP.

I'll PM my Live details whenever I am able to pick this up.

If there is anyone besides me that happened to buy the PS3 version, add me to your PSN list and look for me online! PSN is bamelin

Wife and I played for abit last night and had a blast. Only problem is that she takes forever in the inventory and menus dressing herself and equiping spells/etc.

    FOREVER :(

Trying to clear this up for a friend of mine. He had heard about the game as well and was curious about some rumors he heard.

Is offline co-op limited to 2 players, and is item trading messed up on offline co-op on the 360 version of the game, or just the PS3 version?

So, I played the first Sacred, and I was not cool with the fact that I could have all the abilities of my class at level 1. It made it hard to look forward to leveling, loot aside. Is Sacred 2 any better about this?

offline trading can't be done on either console but will be patched in soon.

The 360 and PS3 can play 2 player offline. The 360 version in addition to normal online with 4 people can also play same console online with 4 people (limited to 2 people per local console playing with 2 others over the internets). The PS3 version currently cannot do this but it will be patched in soon.

Sheep, this won't appear on NPDs till next month, as the numbers just released were for April.

Also I understand your pain. I traded stuff in to get both copies, hope Gamefly has one for you!

And actually yeah, I forgot about Too Human. That is indeed in the same vein as this, although not nearly as huge. I had fun with it, even though I quit playing it like right before the final encounter for some reason.

Yeah. I got some stuff I might be able to trade in for it. PC is back up and running so I don't need Orange Box.

I just wanna make sure I buy it new if possible. Don't want to see these guys go under.

I'll have it at the end of the month regardless.

A few friends and I will be picking this up for 360 today. I played the first one a little bit and it was fun enough. My 360 has been collecting dust and this looks like a good distraction.

Any thoughts on the Temple Guardian cyber dog class;I know nothing about the game but being a cyber dog sounds awesome.

Yeah, Ascaron is a great company. I just realized today that Darkstar One was made by them, and that I only ever played the demo. I think I need to remedy this soon.

I have a backlog on the 360 that is at least 10 games long.

But if you tell me I can only pick one game of all the games that have been released on the 360 that I can play for the next year, right now I'd take Sacred 2.

I have Too Human on my backlog and now I'm not sure I'm going to be getting to it for a long time.

I'm going to definitely play through this game with all 6 characters. With all the different quests, levels, and type of builds, I can see this game lasting a few hundred hours.

You can beat Too Human pretty quickly. Especially if you have someone playing online with you. Levels usually take about an hour to two hours to complete.

You can still get all of the Combat Arts very early. The one change that was made to them was 'modifications.' Every CA can be upgraded to bronze, silver, or gold. At each level you choose one of two possible bonuses. For example, the High Elf's Ancestral Fireball lets you pick Greek Fire to increase the chance of burning or Explosion to add area of effect damage. You'll get these modification points by spending skill points in a skill specific to that CA tree. I'm not sure if that's enough of a change though, since I was completely addicted to the original.

Really enjoying the game, although I still don't get the Combat Arts system much yet. Just level 6.

When you use a combat art rune, you level up that combat art. Leveling it up increases it's power or duration, but it also increases the regeneration time needed to use it again. You can choose skills which you'll be able to put points into to lower the regeneration time of all combat arts or a selected group of combat arts. If you're so inclined, you can choose both skills, although that might be a little excessive.

I think I have to go buy this game.

So, it says there's like over 600 quests or some business. What kind of quests are we talking about here? I'm imagining they're all like, "Go here, kill 5 things, reward."

Some of them are like that, yes, but some of them are larger and multi-stage. Sometimes you're escorting people, sometimes you're finding lost items, etc. The side quests all have a star rating that tells you how much effort/time they require.

Also, the "Get 5 things" or "Kill 5 things" quests point you to the next thing or dude to kill right on the mini-map, so they're not as irritating as those quests can sometimes be.

Some of those quests are also main storyline quests or class-specific quests, which also have a little more meat to them.
