The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I've had contact lenses for almost three years now (monthly lenses), and had no problems with them. However, starting college has meant having to take an hour long bus journey three days a week to get there. Strangely, I've always had trouble when it comes to car/bus journeys, where despite how much sleep I get the night before, they make me tired. My sister's friend slept in her lenses and now can't wear them anymore as she messed her eyes up (though it may have been overnight) and I don't want the same happen to me. I usually get around seven-eight hours sleep a night, and only feel sleepy I get on public transport, probably because of the warmth and movement.
Anyway, it's a strange situation and I don't want to mess my eyes up, any ideas PA?
I take catnaps in my contacts all the time, usually just leaves me with some dry eye which is solved by eyedrops - so far my eye doctor doesn't have any problem with it.
If you're having problems with tired eyes, tell your doc and he may switch the type/brand of lenses to something more forgiving and more frequently replaceable.
You can also get contacts that you leave in for a ?month? and it's expected that you will sleep while wearing them. You could also wear glasses when you ride the bus.

I have the monthly ones and they are fantastic. Honestly, once I got them, I didn't know how anybody with contacts could possibly do without them.
Leave 'em in for a month, then throw them away. They sometimes get dry in the morning, but mine feel better after a shower.
Usagi - that's good to know, I was a little worried but I think my sister's friend slept overnight in them, so from what it sounds like I've not much to worry about.
I heard about the lenses you can sleep in, but haven't mentioned it with my optician, but it definitely sounds like something to think about. Thanks guys
