I recently bought a used version of battlefield 2142 but I’m having issues getting it to work. First it says I am not connected to the internet and that I should download the EA downloader. If I try to log in with the account that the person gave me with the game it says that the account was not found on my local hard drive. Why would the account be stored on my local hard drive?
Also, when I log in with the account at the EA website it says the account has been used for 4 seconds. It’s weird that someone would have played this game for 4 seconds and decided they want to sell it…. unless there is a way to create secondary accounts and he’s selling them?
Also, what worries me is that the account password is linked to their email so I guess they could take the account back any time they want. Am I right?

This isn't so much a case of DRM than it is of non-transferable accounts. MMOs are the same.
I have the account... which i could potentially lose whenever the original account holder wants. This is more an issue of wtf EA why does your games say I am not connected to the internet and why is this dude selling an account he used for 4 seconds

Is it possible to get them to change the account's email to mine?
On a second not, is it possible for battlefield2142 account holders to make secondary accounts that are linked to the primary account. Being that mine has 4 seconds played on it seems suspicious
